Honestly if you can go to another hospital before this one, do it. I understand that they can be busy but for them to tell me that I could be waiting anywhere from an hour to 6 just to be put in a room is ridiculous for a place that's for Emergencies specifically (referring to the ER). Every time I go in there they tell me it's the same thing every time despite me providing proof otherwise they refuse to look into it being anything else and if I could go elsewhere I really would

Went to the ER two weeks ago because I (33f) believed I was having a TIA (mini stroke.) They made me wait in the waiting room for around 2 HOURS, mind you, strokes are an absolute emergency. But there was no rush at all. When I finally got into the triage room I had symptoms once more, was visibly in distress, and they still ignored me. The intake nurse was talking to me very condescendingly; I told her to help me but she did absolutely nothing to help but give me to cold wash rags. Then was finally put into a room where I sat once more for over 2 hours. By then I felt better. Because of that, they treated me like I was just having a panic attack. What!? I’ve had panic attacks before; this was no panic attack, this was something much worse. No tests were done, not even blood work. I paid $250 to get my blood pressure taken atleast 10 times and to basically be told I had a “speech disturbance”, “anxiety,” and “medication reaction.” Absolutely disgusting. I would NEVER go back to this ER, even if I were dying. The walk-in in town does much better work. The ONLY positive was that the staff were all very nice.

Worst care ever give to my mother. Some of the nurses said my mom was dementia because the could not distinguish the difference in dementia and va reaction to the station treatment she was getting from them!!!! Take your loved ones there only if you want them to die!!!!

I'll start this 1 star review with a big caveat. The nurses at Mid-valley Hospital are fantastic. That goes for every one of the 10+ nurse we worked with over the past 5 days. The gave us such great care and comfort in the most uncomfortable and frustrating days of my life. My wife was at her 39 week appointment at the clinic 5 minutes up the street from the hospital with her doctor, Dr. King when her blood pressure indicated she was having pregnancy induced hypertension. The first thing our doctor told us is how much at risk of stroke or seizure she was so we were immediately scared and went over to the hospital within 15 minutes. Our doctor, Dr. King, instead of meeting us there, went home and ran some errands then got some exercise (his words, not mine) before showering and donning a three piece suit. He arrived at the hospital over 4 hours later.I thought it was ridiculous but I brushed it aside because he finally got there. The nurses, following Dr. King's verbal orders over the phone, placed a catheter in my wife and awaited Dr. King's arrival. Upon arrival, looking like he had much better things to be doing that caring for his patients, Dr. King gave my wife an extremely fast and painful cervical exam (remember she had a catheter in via Dr. King's orders) while she screamed in agony that he was hurting her. When he finished, Dr. King looked at my wife in disgust (I'll never forget the face he made), rolled his eyes, then got up and left the room without saying a word. The ordeal took less than 5 minutes, while he checked his phone every 5 seconds, and we didn't see, or hear from, Dr. King for the next 15 hours. The nurses couldn't even contact him by phone. The next day he came in and his excuse for treating my wife the way he did was that he didn't know the nurses put a catheter in and that they shouldn't have so it was the nurses fault. I think that is extremely unprofessional and cowardly behavior towards your patients and coworkers. He then began behaving like a child around the nurses that were apparently not getting the supplies in order to his liking. In the middle of the nurse asking him a question, he just walked out of the room and left for an hour, in the middle of preparing for a procedure. The nurses had no answer as to where he went or why he left. The way the nurses dealt wit his behavior gave me the impression that that is just how Dr. King treats the nurses at Mid-Valley Hospital, like children. My wife labored for 40 hours, while on a fentanyl epidural the whole time, only to be given a c-section. My wife was given what seemed like dozens of different medications which were all ordered over the phone because we saw Dr. King maybe a total of 15 minutes during the 40 hour labor and she felt like they were just guessing at what medications to give her. When we asked for explanation for why some of the medications were prescribed, they told us they didn't know and tried to contact our doctor for an explanation but could never get in contact with him until he physically showed up to the hospital. We never even got an after hours contact for Dr. King the entire pregnancy. We learned early on to consult the internet before Dr. King because iwe were so uncomfortable around him. I will give Dr. King credit when due however. He performed a flawless c-section on my wife. I just wish his patient communications and professionalism matched his skills as a surgeon. Overall , our experience at Mid-Valley Hsospital would have been a thousand times better had my wife and I picked a doctor not named Dr. King. I would suggest replacing Dr. King with someone who cares more for the patient if Mid-Valley Hospital wants their pregnant women to feel comfortable and safe in their care.
