For military active duty and retirees, the Del Mar Marina offers great rates for sailing and boating. They offer sailing and boating instruction and rentals, and other water sport rentals like paddle boards and kayaks. Boat slips are hard to come by, but other members who are PCSing may be offering boats for sale at a reasonable price which includes the slip. The main staff are knowledgeable and helpful.

Hands down one of my family's favorite places to be! We rent sailboats here, My husband took sailing classes and got certified then licensed. We go on fun family trips sailing to San Diego Harbor, Mission Bay, Dana Point, Newport Beach, and even took our 1st week long sailing trip to Catalina Island - all thanks to the Del Mar Marina on Camp Pendleton! Plus, my teenage son even volunteers here to gain his volunteer hours for high school credit. Fun, friendly staff, and just a beautiful Harbor to hang out & fish, paddle board, or kayak for the day. AND, it hands down has the best sailing/ boating prices in town! Of course, you must have military affiliation or background to gain access. If you do, it's so worth coming to check out!
