I have have been treated with nothing but disrespect, I have asked for the paperwork for over four months now knowing I was getting married to add my new husband to my lease and get told this is not possible and not possible to have him stay with me knowing he is my caregiver because he is not a registered nurse they say no not without him being certified. To me this is very discriminative knowing my neighbors boyfriend is there and staying all the time but not a word is said to her. I feel it's because of the fact I don't work and my autistic meltdowns they think we are fighting when it's just my meltdowns but then turn around and deny me the paperwork to prove this to them.

As a residential manager, I went into the housing authority for assistance and the lady at the front desk was very nice, helped me, and gave me a number to call if I needed help.

4 years i have been on the waiting list , i have cancer and epilepsy , then i get a letter saying bring 15 dollars for a credit check , along with 8 other forms of ID, my credit is shot because i have 50 thousand dollars in medical debt from my cancer , i thought YHA was suppose to help people , i dont even have 15 dollars to pay for a credit check , if i knew i needed good credit to get section 8 , i never would have signed up, thanks for nothing YHA for wasting 4 years of my time

Wellll, when the first lady came to explain Section 8 Vouchers, "She" was the nicest & sweetest lady you'd ever meet! BUT when I had to actually go to bring paperwork for the renew. Oh my gosh!! I've never been treated so reuudely in my life!! The lady doing my case, Maritza Dimas, well let me see... I have Sooooo many calls and voicemails into her about additional paperwork as to WHAT she's requesting that its ridiculous! ??!? AND, she STILL hasn't returned my calls!!! My paperwork was supposed to be in 3 weeks ago, and I'm still needing to know exactly what she needs !!! All in all, addictions to their "very young" rude receptionist, I do not like my experience with them at all... A total thumbs down.. They just like screwing w your life!!

You could try to go online and see what it says. The office is closed. Did you try to call? Around 1pm is a good time. There might be a wait list or the housing application is not being taken at this time.

How many months or years does a person have to wait to get to find a HUD apartment or home?.

It's hard to say. Maybe two to three years.

So tell me what is my mom supposed to do. She is 62 and disabled. Yet every place we have asked for help turns her down because she does not get 2 to 3 times the rent in income and or she does not work in the fields.xo what is she to do?

First I totally understand your mothers predicament . If she has section 8 they do not have to have twice or three times income. If not she will have to find a place she can rent with someone else. But truly people are forced to lie. Survival is key ! Our country and goverment is not for the disabled and poor. The last 2 years its become worse. If you can help your mother or rent a house together that would be the best she can hope for. Sometimes the housing has units for 30% of your income. Good Luck

Our rent has just been increased from $350 month to $800 with a 30 day notice. Is this legal? We will have to move as our income is only $1100 month Electric is running in the $300 range right now. Any suggestions?

Go to the housing authority office with your income verification and speak with them.
