The good: there was a path, flowers were in full bloom. The bad: the road way was flooded. The ugly: the ranger station was closed and once you get walking there is one bathroom at the beginning of the trail. Friendship park was closed.

I wouldn’t necessarily consider this a park per se but more of a hiking trail along the road that gives you views of the border and will lead you to the beach.

While visiting San Diego, you must take the time to visit Border Field State Park. Not only is it cool to say you have been to the furthest southwest corner of the USA, you can also see this beautiful beach that feels very “remote” despite being so close to a major metropolitan area. But the most important reason to visit is to experience the humanity of it all, realize Mexico is our friend and ally and just over that wall. It’s sad how militarized the wall is on our side - we can’t get anywhere near it while on the Mexico side they are enjoying life and walking right up to it. It really helps give you perspective!

Cool trip to the border that isn't advertised anywhere in California. Stay away from the fence though.

Sunrise to sunset. There are set hours but you'll likely be invited to leave by the border patrol if it's not during daylight hours.
It's as safe as any other hike. Beauty is relative if you like the urban style and metal border wall its definitely its own kind of beauty. The closest vegan option is on the pier in imperial beach there is a cafe next to the ice cream place.
You mean from US side? I'll check!!! But Mexico side always open... party time!!!
Bong fire? Is that legal?
Yes people are permitted near the fence, we were on the United States side
There's a bus that gets you from Downtown Bus Terminal into Imperial Beach and San Ysidro, you can bike from Coronado Ave to the Park or from the Border. I guess you can bike along the 5 too, close to the bay but it's a long way.
No
I know of several ranches on the edge of the park. I have also seen folks with horses. You would have to check with the park service regarding specifics on horses, entering...etc.
Border, and after war Borderland..? Located south of Chula Vista.
