We pulled in late to Stoney Creek, with just a bit of daylight left. We checked in late at the general store, and backed into our site (48). Roads are wide and flat (gravel). The campground is well-maintained and the staff are friendly. They have a well-stocked store and a big event hall for dining and relaxing. We will definitely stay here again when we're in the area.

Here now and enjoying the campground. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The campground is a busy campground, which I don’t mind personally. I like quiet and laid back and I like busy, so it doesn’t bother me that there are golf carts running around throughout the day and evening. I will note that the campground grounds are well maintained and pretty nice but the facilities are mostly outdated. The restroom and shower facilities need some serious updating. There were doors on the stalls that didn’t have a lock or if they did, it didn’t work. Some had knobs but didn’t have a lock. They were poorly lit and fairly dark on the inside. And the most interesting concern is the pattern throughout all the bathrooms at the campground where the toilets in the stalls were directly in front of the doors. Not a lot of room to really maneuver…sitting down is a challenge…more of a squat than a sit 😂…and the door to the stall is all up in your grill (don’t hate for the bathroom review, we all do it). As far as the complaints about the confederate flags and the permanent sites…whatever…I wasn’t chased around the campground by rednecks toting muskets and hand-loaded long guns. People will always find something to whine about or be offended by. Overall I enjoyed the campground and the experience.

Stayed a long weekend (3 nights) last week. The park is so big! We rented a golf cart, which was very clean and well maintained, and was able to see the whole park. That would be tough to do on foot. We stayed in site #15 with a 38 foot fifth wheel. We had plenty of room to park our tow vehicle and another car, and our "front yard" was nice and roomy. Site was gravel and we had very little dirt inside the camper even after a rain shower...no mud. It was a bit odd that so many seasonal sites were mixed in with weekend sites but most were well maintained and the people we encountered were very nice and respectful. The store is very well stocked...milk, eggs, even bacon...soft drinks, beer, wine, all of the necessary food staples and lots more. If you forgot something chances are they have it in stock. Our can opener broke and they had several. The pool is big compared to most campgrounds pools we've seen, with lots of lounge chairs available. The lake is beautiful with a nice beach area and again...lots of lounge chairs. Our site had alot of shade. The roadways were about what you'd expect... adequately maintained with some areas needing a little work. It got a bit loud and chaotic around the playground/pool area the night the band was there but that's to be expected. If you don't like it you go back to your site. Overall a fantastic first experience here and we plan to go back later this summer.

Made this our “maiden voyage destination” for our new camper and we weren’t disappointed. It’s only about 4 miles from our house (by design — wanted to be close to home if something breaks on the new camper), but it was a fantastic trip. The few fellow campers that were with us were very friendly, the staff were very friendly and the grounds were fairly well maintained. We liked it enough to book Memorial Day weekend and are thoroughly looking forward to that stay. Our spot was very close to the lake and we were next to a stream as well. Very easy to back into and very level — we were unhitched, hooked up and ready to go in about 15 minutes.
