Freeman Creek Campground

This place is perfect for camping especially with kids. We stayed in the cabins, and they were great. They have a for those hot summer days. There's plenty of parking close by. There's a playground right below the cabins. Access to the boat launch and mooring dock is within walking distance. There's a shower house in the campground next to Freeman Creek.

Clean, our tent went on cut grass which was amazing. Swimming area, playground if you have kids.. large spots and affordable. This might be a favorite campground for me now.

This place is really cool! We hit it during their off peak season (late March), so we had an entire loop to ourselves. It was very peaceful. My kids loved the playground, just down the slope from where we were camping. Also, that had to be the most pleasant smelling vault toilet I've ever encountered. Perhaps that was because we were there before the peak time and everything was still clean from the winterizing, but it was still true, nonetheless. During peak season there is a shower house and flush toilets, but they weren't open yet when we were there. I heard that this is the most underutilized state Park in Idaho - which is crazy, because it's lovely. The disc golf course is pretty intense, but still fun. There's also an archery range, that looks like it gets some good use in warmer months. It's also located close to the dam, where people can take tours and kids can learn about hydroelectric power. Cell service was unreliable out there, but since our goal was to get our family away from technology, it was perfect.

Love Freeman Creek. The tent sites are tucked in among trees with great views. Very peaceful.
