This is the most helpful library! They even have a self checkout and enough movies to be called blockbuster2 lol. There's plenty #avalible #online but i love a good handheld. The offshoot at the mall makes this city a top notch read!

Excellent!! Haven't been here in years. Another great experience! They have really expanded their options for things to check out! I recommend 'checking out' this library for many different reasons!

This library's staff is simply doing an outstanding job in continuing to give patrons access to library materials during this COVID-19 pandemic. The curbside pickup is easy to use and has worked flawlessly. Thank you for the great service that you are providing to your patrons during this unique and challenging time. We absolutely appreciate each and every one of you.

A nice comfortable place. Although I have headphones on all the time; so I'm immune to noise. Most of the staff has a neutral effect on those around them, niether negative nor uplifting... Although none are bad, and there are a few that make the environment a happier place with their presence. I personally believe the noise is partly because all the stores around here, that would be community chat areas with delis, have removed their electric outlets and, in some cases, seating to deter the lower class citizens from staying there. So this Library is the community area. And it IS comfortable. And I haven't yet found issue with it.

No, we do not, unfortunately. We do, however, have lots of computers you can use as well as mobile printing if you're having issues with your home equipment!
Hello! Yes, we are building a new Spokane Valley Library, located at the corner of Sprague Avenue and Herald Road, across from the Spokane Valley City Hall. We are anticipating a grand opening sometime in 2023.
Unfortunately customers are not able to come inside the building at all at this time, due to our area being in Phase 1 of the governor's reopening plan. We do currently offer curbside pickup, as well as many virtual programs. Our digital resources on our website (scld.org) are available 24/7. We hope that when our area reaches Phase 2 of the reopening plan, we will be able to allow customers in the library again, but that depends on the governor's reopening guidelines for libraries. The Spokane Public Library system, I believe, was at one point letting customers in by appointment, but they are no longer doing that at this time. We are a part of the Spokane County Library District, which is separate from the Spokane Public Library system, and we have not been letting customers in by appointment.
Hi Jennifer, We are currently only open for Curbside services, but are working on our reopening plan, per the Governor's guidelines. We hope to be open in the coming weeks. We currently have a process in place where you can print your items and then pick them up curbside. With a Spokane County Library District library card, you get 80 free prints or copies per week (40 if they are double sided). You can find more information about this process here: https://www.scld.org/send-mobile-printing-requests-to-the-library-get-your-print-jobs-with-curbside-pickup/. You can also call 509-893-8400 for more info about printing, or with any other questions. We hope this helps!
Hello! Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that we have any books on physical CD that will teach you how to learn Filipino or Tagalog. However, if you are a resident of Spokane County, not the city of Spokane, and you have a card with us, you can access our digital library, which has a few different digital audiobooks for learning Filipino and Tagalog that you can checkout and then download to a device. If you are a city of Spokane resident, you can get access to digital audiobooks and ebooks through the Spokane Public Library system. If you have any more questions, you can call us at 509-893-8400 and we'll be happy to help!
Hello! You do not need a library card to study in the library. We are open to the public! Library cards are free if you'd like to get one but it is not necessary to be in any of our libraries. Thanks!
They have meeting rooms you can book. Otherwise, the second level has tables and computers and tends to be quieter than the main level.
Hi Mary! You can register for a card online at https://www.scld.org/get-library-card/ or fill out an application in person at any of our library locations. All you will need is photo identification with your name and current address. Staff will be happy to help get you a card!
Opened at 10:00 am and close at 6pm today.
Hello! All you need to get a library card is a valid ID and proof of address. Here is a link to our webpage with more information: https://www.scld.org/get-library-card/ If you have questions feel free to stop by or call any of our library locations and staff would be happy to help. Thanks for the question!
Hi Sharon! Tax Aide at the Spokane Valley Library is from 1–4pm on Fridays. Tax Aide is also available Saturdays, 10am–1pm and Mondays, 4–7pm until April 15. Thanks!
Hi Larry! We do not have issues from that period. Your best bet is to try archived issues online that were digitized by Google located at https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=0klj8wIChNAC Our local universities might also have issues during the years you are interested in. Here are the phone numbers if you’d like to give them a call and ask: Whitworth University (509-777-4491), Gonzaga University (509-313-5931), Eastern Washington University (509-359-2263), and as John suggested, you can check with the Spokane Public Library as well. Their phone number is 509-444-5300. Our digital databases, NewsBank and US Newsstream, have online access but it only goes back to 1994. Hope this helps!
Teri is correct. You can bring drinks into the library. Thanks for asking!
Yes you can! The next time you are in the library, you can go to the front desk and ask staff for a guest pass and they will be happy to assist you.
The average turnaround time for when our Collection Services receives an item and when it gets on the shelves at our libraries is approximately 4 weeks. This time may vary depending on when the release date of the item is or how many holds the item has. If you have any questions about a specific item, please contact your local library in person or by phone and they will be happy to help you. Thank you for the question Dustin!
No, sorry.
