Great little family run restaurant! Everything was very clean and organized. I ordered the traditional breakfast of eggs, bacon (extra crisp), hashbrowns and English muffin. It was all cooked well---great quality bacon and they did make my bacon extra crisp and yummy. The English muffins were the best I've had...thin and nicely browned. Some places barely warm them, so these were great. And Theressa is a delightful upbeat server with your best interests in mind! We'll go back!

When the 4 of us walked in for breakfast, there were only 2 other people there. The staff were nice and the menu was interesting. Everything we ordered was great. By the time we were finished, the place was crowded with only 1 empty table. If we get back to Tucson, we will definitely eat there again.

I've been eating at Ajo Cafe for decades. Despite the age of the place, you are going to get a tasty, filling meal at a great price. They offer the staples of the working class, a variety of breakfast foods (they open at 6AM) burgers, sandwiches and hot meals like chicken fried steak or meatloaf. My bride had the meatloaf, which she says was flavorful. It was, to her a bit dry, but she did not want the gravy. Her loss. She opted to substitute fries over the mashed potatoes, which were cooked just right. My green Chile burger was excellent, juicy and tasty. Ajo Cafe has made a name for itself with homemade pies. it is always a great way to top off a meal with a slice of cream or fruit pie. They are smooth and extraordinary. This time, I chose the coconut cream, my bride got a pecan. She devoured hers before I could get a pictures, but mine is posted. (I took the pic at home after it suffered the indignity of being rattled in a take-out box, it looks much better on a plate.) YUMMM Now that COVID is mellowing down, seating is better but the crowds are coming back. Ajo Cafe has always been a bit small, so plan on maybe a bit of a wait. Lastly, I wanted to add a bit about our waitress, Teresa. She is such a sweetie; helpful, pleasant and possessing the energy of a hummingbird, all the while bantering with customers, making them feel so welcome.
