Appointments must be made prior to visiting the office because of COVID. They will turn you away if you do not have an appointment. Try calling first thing in the morning or right after lunch break. That’s when I had the most luck. Wait time for reaching a live agent is about 20 minutes. Staff that handled my application was efficient and friendly.

I called at 9am sharp to setup my appointment to apply for a social security number. I didn’t have to wait at all long for the call to be answered, and got prompt and efficient service from the agent who answered my call. I DID have trouble getting through the day before, but I believe this office is closed on Tuesdays, so that would explain it. It would be nice if the IVR / voice menu recording would just say “the office is closed today” instead of holding me in antici…

Nice friendly staff, no line, in and out in less than 15 minutes. Getting the appointment was a trial in perseverence. You wait 40 minutes, phone rings and answers no sound for 30 minutes, try again, 20 calls over 5 days. Ntry, try. Again Office was good, competent and quick

Our social security office is not open during COVID nor is the number provided a working number. This should be unacceptable for an important government office. I have to rely on mail to send something as sensitive as a birth certificate to get my newborn a social security number?! Wild.

Depends on your local office based off of home address. For 1098 Valencia SSA the full address is correct or come into the office and drop in the 'express drop box' during business hours.

Yes you can walk in with no appointment. I went on Thursday 6/23/22 and was seen. My whole wait time from start to finish was a little over 3 hours,so expect to wait if you have no appointment.
Yes, you can go in, if you don't have an Appointment...but, you have to wait in line out-side... As long as you get there early, you'll have a chance to talk with someone. Unless you are just there to drop off paperwork, then just let the Security guy know.

You will need to go online to set up an appointment with them. They are not open to public for now. They will give instructions for your appointment. Just to give you heads up you will be on phone for almost 30min to an hour. If you want to speak to someone. Hope this help you. Thanks

No its closed because of covid, there is a phone number on the front window on a piece paper taped to the window, it says that if theres a emergency they see so many a day, I tried calling got a automated person, and it will hang up on yo I after so many rings. Its a pain in the b....,best bet is to make a appointment online but I had troubles doing that too. I still haven't got to see anyone yet

The local number is (866) 755-6323. The number listed (800) 772-1213 is indeed national number. You either get the message you reference, or it places you on hold for literally an hour before disconnecting you. It's a dreadfully disorganized government agency.
