Our time in Camera Zone was the only negative in an otherwise wonderful trip to San Francisco. If it was possible to provide a rating of zero or negative stars, we gladly would. This is a business whose primary goal appears to be taking advantage of tourists. Prices are extremely unreasonable (10 times retail cost in some instances) and customer service/satisfaction is not one of their aims. The entire encounter was a great example of every trick a con artist uses when trying to swindle you.

As soon as you tell them you're a beginner or amateur they'll start their demonstrations of their magic multi-purpose camera lens and show you a fake eBay ad of the same product to show how they're selling theirs for a quarter of the price. I can't even find their product online other than a few other people saying it's complete trash. In the end we ended up paying well over the odds for a UV filter and off-brand battery which I doubt will last long at all. Customer service greatly reduced once he knew we weren't buying his $400 lens (which he offered for $300 on our way out). Photography stores that I'm used to are genuinely helpful and passionate about the hobby but these guys are all vultures who's eyes light up when naive tourists walk in.

Owner is a thief and a con-man. Overcharged nearly $100. Doesn't know the products he is selling, tried to sell me a camera that he pretended was a different camera in attempt to sell it for 10x it's actual worth. Every single camera in the store is at least 4x as expensive as average.

Best camera I've been my 10+ years of photography. Definitely out class SoCal stores. That's coming from native Angelino. Spoke with the owner of shop and had pretty genuine awesome conversation. And even encourage me to continuing to shoot for photography. It's one of those moments you remember why do certain things in life. What makes you happy and keep on fighting that passion.

Hi. It all depends on your preference. Typically, we would not recommend it, but we have seen people do it before. Hope the information helps you.
