Made an appointment online. Was helped immediately after checking in. As a mom of a toddler and 8yr old that was greatly appreciated. In and out in 10 minutes for registration and license renewal. Will definitely come again for my future appointments!

Went in to renew my DL and needed to make appointment. I was unable to schedule online and no one answered the phone so I went in to see if they could help me out. They said I needed an appointment and I informed them that the website wouldn't let me. No one was in the lobby and there were three workers behind the counter and they said they were too busy to help me. Pathetic!!!

Sandra was very helpful, patient, kind and friendly. She was able to help me get my three issues completed and with a smile during the whole process. I felt she treated me with dignity and respect. Because of the pandemic these were difficult to address in a timely manner. Mahalo Sandra...

I had an overall good experience. The wait wasn't too bad. The last lady I was sent to was so very nice and helpful. It wasn't crowded. Only thing that's weird is the chairs don't face the employees, your back does. They make you look at a wall. Not sure what that's about but it's not cool which is why 4 stars. Other than that, I will definitely go there again. No problem at all. Met some nice people to chat to while waiting!

This is the most accurate review of this place 100% agree
If you go right at 2:00 pm they can either help you make an appointment or get you in if you have something quick, such as a registration renewal. As of mid-September, the Belen office was booking into November. Website booking was not working for me so I went in person.
In order to get ANYTHING done at ANY MVD you would need to go to https://eservices.mvd.newmexico.gov/eTapestry/_/ the above site and schedule an appointment. Some services are available at alternative MVD places but they do add a service charge on top of what you may need to do. Sometimes they require an appointment but they may have walk in availability. I suggest to call in advance. If it is something that can wait then go through MVD but if it needs to be done immediately then I suggest to go to an express location.
Updated requirements appear on the official website of the motor vehicle office. Basically: License Title Proof of address
