Made a claim to fix my phone, claim was accepted and i made an appt. They cancel my appt 2 hours later and then give me a number to call. The automated message tells me my replacement phone is coming in 1-2 business days. 5 days pass , I call for update and they tell me nothing has been done. No phone shipped, have to pay $70 more. Offer to get phone repaired but about 20-30 miles away from me , on a day I have work already. I’m livid.

This is the worst insurance ever. My adjuster was the most uncooperative person. They will find any little technicality or wording in reports to not pay you after you’ve paid your policy. They take forever to return phone calls. I was waiting nearly 3 months for my claim to be denied and closed because an officer used the word, evict. The adjuster, Gabby, told me I needed to have the police report corrected then she went on vacation, closed my claim and it’s been two weeks since and I have yet to receive a phone call. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON INSURANCE THAT WONT PAY YOU WHEN IT COMES TIME!

The e-mail to extend your appliance warranty should be considered a CON to steal your money and the on line rating should be NEGATIVE Stars. The facts. 1. Convection Bosch convection/microwave oven door drops open because one of the door springs broke (oven in use, but wanted to protect the oven from further damage) 2. Called Assurant 3. When the service techs arrived, we pointed out that one of the springs in the door was broken. The technicians disassembled the oven door and took it with them. 4. Incompetent technicians • Delivered a new door about 3 weeks later and jammed the door such that it could not be removed or closed • The technician did not know what was wrong and just left the jammed door in my kitchen. His remark, “You weren’t able to use it without the door anyway”. This of course was the door they had removed. • Conversation with “Customer Service” (screaming voice) pointed out that they do not work for us. We are not the customers and Assurant would contact us. 5. It was obvious to us that we had made a big mistake and that these technicians were going to damage the convection/microwave oven so we requested the original door back 6. The original door was delivered, but now the oven door has a damaged hinge and the microwave face is dinged up where the wrong door was jerked off 7. Incredibly Horrible Deceitful customer service • When we noted that the hinge was not originally broken, they would not acknowledge and again reminded us that we were not the customer • The technicians told us they would contact Assurant and tell them that our original door is broken and could not be installed (of course omitting that they had broken it) • The Service Tech reported to Assurant that they had tried three (3) different doors (outright lie) • Awaiting response from Assurant Note: Assurant gives the technicians 3 days to file a report every time they come to your house. Then Assurant gives themselves 3 days to get back to you. The result is that it takes 6 days for you to hear back on next steps. 8. Weeks later, my microwave oven is still not fixed. This is an appliance I used several times a day for my father’s meals. He had a stroke and relies on me as his sole caretaker. My work day has become nearly impossible.

I recently cracked the edge of my phone screen and due to the nature of my workplace, I needed to get it repaired so as not to further damage my phone. I am constantly exposed to chemicals and residues at work that can seep into the cracks in a phone. I got my phone repaired by a third party vendor without realizing I had insurance already in place. However, my first thoughts were of how chemicals at work may cause further damage if the cracks are not repaired properly. When I called Assurant today to see if they can reimburse me, the only thing they repeated was that I had to file a claim in order to do anything and they were adamant about not reimbursing me regardless since I had already repaired my phone. They would not even bother looking up to see if the dealer I reapired with was Assurant authorized or even took their claims. I understand it was my fault for being negligent of knowing what my policy covers and who I can get it repaired from, but the fact that Assurant wanted me to pay $100 to file a claim on top of already having paid for repairs, and to possibly deny reimbursing me due to the fact I didn't file a claim with them in the first place is beyond me. What an unprofessional and petty attitude of an isurance claim company and I highly recommend that if you pay for their isurance on your phone to learn from my mistake. They make no room for negotiation with your situation and only direct you to your carrier which even they acknowledge that Assurant will not reimburse you if you do anything to your phone.

Let me begin by saying that I've purchased insurance from this company for as long as I can remember about 20 years and haven't really needed them till this year. They charged $653 dollars for being late in returning my old phone..
