This is an awesome little corner of little cottonwood! The aspens and the line trees create a beautiful canopy to sit in and listen to the wind through the trees, have a fire, and enjoy nature for a night or two. The trees also provide some privacy from your camp neighbors.

Very nice camp grounds! Loved it we had a big group ,and this was the prefect place. As of June 2022 there was no running water for drinking.

This is a more modern campgrounds. Easy access off of paved road. Paved driveway, running water, toilets. Campsites 1-19 are close to the river which was rushing in mid June. Go to sleep with the sound of rushing water. Campsites are well spread out and secluded with trees and underbrush. No pets allowed which is a big plus. Hosts were super friendly and helpful. The only downside was the occasional noisy truck and motorcycle from the road. Host did mention that it gets really full in the summer time so be sure to reserve.

My family and I took my 5 year old niece, who is currently fighting terminal brain cancer, up to Tanners Flat this weekend. She has always wanted to go “real” camping. The camp hosts Jana and Marian were amazing! They were so accommodating and they were the reason this was able to happen. The yurts and camp sites were very clean and beautiful. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience where so many wonderful memories were made. I would highly recommend Tanners Flat for a quick getaway with amazing camp hosts! Thanks again!

Is the weather the same as in Sandy?

Judith Manza | Oct 11, 2020
Pat Wright (SqlAsylum) | Oct 12, 2020

This is far enough up the canyon that it's much colder than sandy and you will sometimes get small rainstorms out of the blue. Not as frequently as higher locations like the uintas but it won't be the same as Sandy.
