I've been to SCR a couple times due to my own mistakes from leaving early and relapsing. And Rich at SCR has welcomed me back with open arms and has helped me to understand addiction. With the knowledge I've learned here and in A.A, I'm now sober today and thankful for SCR. I highly recommend this program for anyone struggling with any type of addiction or alcoholism.

S.C.R is a program that stands out from all of the facilities. There is so much love with their program and staff, it's really a great place to take your journey of sobriety seriously. This facility operates out of beautiful Huntington Beach with a team that truly loves the work that they do. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is struggling with addiction to help turn their life around. The best choice I ever made coming up on 4 years this June and I owe a big part of that to S.C.R. Thank You, Jim

Thank God for the care and compassion of Surf City Recovery! Since the moment of my arrival, the despair and hopelessness that plagued me was removed, and as a direct result of this supportive, encouraging staff, the will to live again was restored and I am now moving towards a meaningful and gratifying life of sobriety! Unlike most places, every single person employed for Surf City Recovery has suffered from the disease of addiction. They all know what it’s like to struggle through the early stages of sobriety, and are faithfully working their own personal recovery programs. Everyone had an incredible wealth of experience to share and also had the sensitivity and knowledge to relate to the many challenges I was facing in early recovery during my stay at SCR. All of the groups we attended were consistently unique and engaging, each staff member bringing their own topics of expertise for us to process and learn from. The entire staff was always more than willing to find the time to help me in any way they could. This display of kindness continually motivated and inspired me to further deepen my commitment to my own recovery, and to also help others find the courage and level of commitment necessary to overcome the disease of addiction. During my long, intense battle to find stability and sobriety, there have been many times when I ended up living in extremely unhealthy, negative atmospheres, having no choice but to live in filthy, run down housing, to live in drug infested neighborhoods, to have little or no accountability to a house manager, with no rules to abide by, with no access to 12 step meetings. SCR knows that in order to be successful and to have a fair chance at achieving long term recovery, being placed in a positive environment is extremely important to one’s well-being and vital to success! I was very fortunate at SCR to have the opportunity to live in clean, beautiful home which was immersed in a quiet, safe neighborhood. There is a house manager on site 24/7, who kept us accountable to the simple, important rules which are so important helping us assume responsibility for our new life of recovery. And though most every program recommends that recovering addicts attend 12 step meetings, countless times I’ve been in places where I’ve needed a meeting and had no means to attend, leaving me helpless in the fight against my addiction. At SCR, we were required to attend a 12 step meeting every night, and not only that, we were given the chance to attend different meetings in different locations each night, which gave me the opportunity to seek out a regular “home group”, a necessary element to recovery that I had been missing for a very long time. And even though sometimes I didn’t “feel” like attending a meeting every night, (since I’d already attended thousands over the years) the fact that I was broken enough to be open, willing and committed to the daily discipline of doing so has been invaluable. Implementing a 12 step recovery program back into my life has made such a profound difference, and is proven to do the same for anyone who desires to overcome their addiction! Over the years I have been a “student”, a “patient”, a “consumer”, a “client”, or a “number” in all types of “treatment” centers. (unfortunately many places are “mistreatment” centers, and they are to be avoided at all costs!) The staff at Surf City Recovery treated me a like a Person, and cared enough to give me experience, the grace and the opportunities I needed to finally find enough hope, courage, and direction I needed to have a successful life in recovery once and for all! I’ve been in quite a lot of different places, and none have been nearly personable, and gracious, and helpful as SCR! I cannot say enough about how highly I recommend this facility to anyone who is in need and has the desire to overcome addiction and to begin (or begin again!), a new, and purposeful, and wonderful life of recovery!
