My sister recently moved to the area and was in need of a hairdresser. I referred her to the salon. I'd heard both good and bad things about the salon. Most complimented the owner's talent and loved the results they recieved. I'd seen some of her client's hair and it was indeed a beautiful job. She obviously is very talented. However with all the compliments regarding her work came stories about bad experiences in the salon. Mostly about the owner and the way she conducted herself. I did not share the negative comments with my sister. Her appointment was not with the owner but another stylist who she complimented but had nothing nice to say about the owner. She was overly loud and judgmental and had nothing nice to say about anyone. She made horribly inappropriate comments making my sister and another client very uncomfortable. When a client left she made mean and crude comments about the customer. She spoke about faith and religion but ber actions and how she treated people showed the complete opposite. She was rude to the other stylists. She showed no appreciation for her customers and acted as if they owed her. I was truly shocked to find out the rumors and stories were true. Customers are what make a business and keep her doors open. Clients should be welcomed and treated with respect. My sister said she'd never return to that salon because of the owner. I now understand why clients have chose to leave the salon. After hearing my sisters experience I started reading the reviews posted by others and it seems the owner is the main complaint. Her responses to the negative reviews show no remorse nor does she take responsibility for her actions. She threatens people with lawsuits and blames the bad reviews on past employees. She must be in denial of her words and how they affect others. It's hard to want to support local businesses when the owner acts so ungrateful. A good owner would reach out to past clients and try to fix the situation or apologize for her actions or misunderstandings and acknowledge there is a time and place for certain conversations especially considering so many find them offensive. Instead she strikes back with anger and threats. When there are so many people having the same complaints, clients from different times, places, and social groups say the same things it's easy to see the one in the wrong is the owner. Clients look for good work and a pleasant of fun experience. Seems the only one having fun is the owner making snarky comments and crude insults of others. It's sad such a talented woman and her work is not what she's becoming known for.
