I enjoyed this quick-win sort of hike. Great views that you don’t have to hike very long for. I could see the top of some of the snow-capped mountains from here.

I was a 1st timer this year to Colby & was pleasantly surprised. Short & moderately easy hike. I recommend it for anyone, even for young children (be patient with them though). There's no public parking stalls so you will need to park on the neighborhood street/s which is few. Other than that & no public restroom I might have given it 5⭐ (gave 4 BUT actually I give it 3.5 stars)

Toughness: 8/10 Length: 6/10 This is a fantastic trail that is incredibly tough. Do not come here if your lungs and heart can’t work hard, because it took me almost no time before my chest was pounding. This is a desert trail with lots of shade at first but within a mile or so, you will lose all shade. If you keep going, it turns into strictly desert scrub. The path also winds its way around some roads but keeps going. From the maps, it looks like it continues going into the San Gabriel mountain range, so the length may be longer but the total trail is not more than a few miles.

This trail is interesting but is recommended only for strong knees! Otherwise, it's definitely a bit steep. It looks to be well-maintained and clean. Has a couple picnic tables with nice cityscape views. I didn't make it very far up at all but I'm guessing it's a good place for a workout that feels semi-private & adventurous. Walking sticks might be a good idea. Note that there is no actual designated parking lot.
