Really nice library. The only problem is that it is quite loud and no one seems to police small shrieking children and their oblivious parents. Everything else here is awesome and the outdoor areas are very nice when the weather is warm

The library is good but it’s too loud to study. The employees need to use library voices so patrons can actually enjoy the quiet.

The staff here are incredibly rude. I took my mask off for a second to drink my coffee and this lady completely scolds me and talks down on me to put it back on. I am fully vaccinated with my booster shot as well. This is absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention I’m completely in the corner of the library with absolutely no one near me.

It's a nice library overall but the staff is so obnoxiously loud! What happened to the whole "Shhh!!"? I came here to work somewhere quiet, like most libraries are. The staff does not use indoor voices, you can hear them gossiping, laughing, and just being loud! If you're going to be loud go outside! They don't even care if the guests are being loud either. I had to pack up and leave because I just could not find a quiet space to focus. Staff needs to be more quiet, please!!

You may call the library to check or use the online catalog - even if you don't have a card. Or drop by. Smoke signals don't work.
There is a bin for donations outside
Don't know. The place is deserted. Staff very helpful

Don't worry. When it's due, they'll remove it from your device.
As Bradley said, the restrooms are not directly in the Schulman Auditorium, but adjacent to it and open when there are events happening in the Schulman Auditorium.
They also have a 3D printer. Not sure of pricing
You can access census records online. Talk to the genealogy department at the Georgina Cole location for more information.
Their computer class schedule can be found on their website: http://www.carlsbadca.gov/services/depts/library/events/computers.asp

The Friends Book Sale opens at 10 a.m. The Book Store is open: Mondays & Wednesdays 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Yes, actually all three library locations have adult book clubs. You can find the listing of the book clubs and which books they are reading here: http://www.carlsbadca.gov/services/depts/library/events/bookclubs.asp The book clubs at Carlsbad City Library on Dove Lane are the first Wednesday of the month at 2 p.m. and the 4th Monday (this is a classics book club) of the month at 7 p.m.
The Carlsbad City Library at 1775 Dove Lane has the Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium. We host many events in this venue (concerts, author events, movies, etc.) as well as allow the public to rent the space for their events.
According to the online catalog, the library dues own The Art of Public Speaking by JOHN HALE. You may want to check with the library about the possibility of borrowing the correct book through interlibrary loan.
