Great place, fun to climb and meet new people. Good vibes. The V3-v5s seem to be more technical than strength based which I like.

This gym is very small, and the gradings are extremely harsh. I brought my wife here for fun and she cannot even climb half of any v0 routes. Most of the v5s feel like v6 or v7 in other gyms. Recently they even had a green v3 which experienced climbers have difficulty making the first move. I understand the route setters might just want to make the gym a bit more challenging. But setting up a v3 that feels like v6+ will definitely discourage people.

The gym itself is pretty small. Most of the routes begin and end in the same style and difficulty and I wished they changed it up more but overall I do still like the setting, especially on the more overhung walls and the cave. The atmosphere is pretty friendly. I'm rating a 4 but honestly it's a pretty solid gym if you live nearby the area, just wouldn't be my first choice that's all.

If you want a sense of community when you climb this is the place. Most gyms in LA everyone seems more concerned with being cool than having a good time and hanging with fellow climbers. Also if you climb here regularly you can go to touchstone gyms and crush 2 v grades higher and actually BE cool rather than standing around trying to act it ‘cause touchstones are soft feel good gyms that cost twice as much monthly. When I climb at hangar I am often humbled but that realistic grading makes me one of if not the best climber in the room at the other soft gyms in LA. Can’t say enough good things about this gym and it’s staff. Don’t waste your money at any other gym and TAKE YOUR CLIMBING SHOES OFF WHEN YOU GO INTO THE BATHROOM

If you are experienced, you will let them know at the desk, they can certify you. If you are unable to pass the certification in the type of climbing you would like to do, they will ask you to book the introductory lesson. It's free for membership, and is currently $35 per adult. The lessons are by appointment only and can be scheduled online, or in person on one of their iPads in store. The classes have a limited amount of students allowed at once, so they don't allow walk ins at this time for those.
Not on the outside but you might be able to bring it into where the lockers are it's a big room and I'm sure you could leave in that room while you climb
