Great day to hike at Blendon Woods! Did the Sugarbush trail and caught a glimpse of an owl along the way. I love how quiet and peaceful the park is compared to others.

One of the best parks in Columbus! There are a lot of picnic benches and shelters that are available as first-come, first-served for those looking for a place to host a casual gathering. Very nice trails, both paved and unpaved. The biggest downside is that dogs aren't permitted on most of the trails, but they are allowed in the picnic areas (on leashes, and please pick up after them).

One of the Columbus area Metro Parks, Blendon Woods is conveniently located near I-270 and state route 161. The main entrance on E Dublin-Granville Road ushers visitors into the park with a gorgeous hilly drive that leads to the nature center at the southeastern end. From this parking lot, you can access several of the trailheads. The walking trails here are short and generally flat, so not difficult in terms of elevation change, which makes it very family friendly. Some of the trails connect to others. The longest trail is Sugarbush, which is "unimproved" - meaning a natural surface that can be quite muddy if it has recently rained. The Lake Trail leads to a pair of observation shelters that overlook Thoreau Lake. There are playgrounds and restrooms throughout the park, picnic shelters, and a disc golf course, if that's your thing. Something for everyone!

This is one of the famous park in Columbus area. This one is located next to intersection of I-71 and 161. This is very big park with different sections. One of my favorite is the natural playground. I have added most of the pics kids love this one as this is made up of all words and natural trail. You will have enough area for barbecue and your picnic. Each area has its own parking and shelters. Most of the area has kids playground as well. Best for one day outing in spring/summer/ fall. Lot of trees and trails so you will love it.

The county parks are not very dog friendly. You can have a dog on a leash out in the open, but not on trails.
I seen a small group of skate boarders in the parking lot. Was a pleasant day.
Not that I saw. If the ideal weather conditions were right it may have been.
There are shelters you can rent and ones that you can just show up and use if they are not occupied. I would check their website. metroparks.net/reservations/
No, the only camping at Blendon Woods is through the adjacent Camp Sugarbush property. I know community groups use it but am unsure if the property is available for rent to private parties. You may want to call Metro Parks HQ and ask.
