They have done a great job with the campgrounds. It’s very well taken care of. My review is for the canoeing. We were out on the river on a day that I feel we shouldn’t have been unless we were very experienced. We had two young kids and two almost in their 80s in our group. The water was shallow but rushing hard in places, which made it dangerous. My parents and son flipped going through strong rapids, but because it was shallow they couldn’t get out from under the canoe - the force of the water was pushing it on them downstream. It was a very scary event. My parents were beat up and shaken up and my and dad had a gash on his arm. My 10 year old was crying and shaking and didn’t want to get back in. All of that happens, we know that. We signed the waiver. My two stars is because of how I felt our concerns/report on the river was taken when we got back. The woman we told in the office just said those are the best conditions you’ll have on that river (even though I’ve been canoeing it since I was a kid and was trying to say this time the conditions felt very different). It was just meant to be a heads up for anyone coming behind us with kids or older people that maybe it wasn’t the safest day to be out there. The way it was brushed off after such a scary incident left a bad taste in my mouth.

My family has been camping at Kokosing since I was a child. This is our second home and the owners and staff are Amazing!! Grounds are always clean and well kept, kid friendly and we love the River! We have camped at many camp grounds and Kokosing is by far the best.

The other people camping around my family were nice, and the pool was nice. The weather wasn't nice enough to go down the river, But he reason for two stars was the store at the entrance. The women working the counter was shooting me dirty looks everytime I was in there. I was in there kind of a lot, because we needed ice and firewood. The people in there all seemed distracted constantly and really didn't pay attention to costumers.

I have been a seasonal camper for the past few years and have been overwhelmed by the welcoming and friendly owners!! They take great care of their campground & customers. I highly recommend going to KVCC for a fun weekend of relaxation, swimming, tubing, canoeing/kayaking down the river, putt-putt, and practicing your swing at the driving range! Just last week after a fun swim in the pool my family & I treated our selves to delicious velvet ice cream as we sat inside the store chatting with the friendly staff.
