Definitely a Jazz atmosphere. Proof of COVID vaccination required. Cover charge. Very dark inside. This is NOT a fast food restaurant. Caters to more elderly customers. They have a wine room. I was dressed in jeans and a blouse. The snobby waiter hardly acknowledge me. The bartender lady came over and took my order. The kake beet salad was ok. Guessing I didn't fit his requirements. I won't be going back.

I wish I could give this place 10 stars. Absolutely amazing. The waiter was kind, compassionate, understanding, and hilarious. Almost every course and meal came with some kind of entertaining story. He consistently checked in on us and seemed to truly care about our experience. Also, I'm not a foodie; I usually see food as simply a thing you have to do. But even I uttered out loud "oh. My. God" when i took the first bite of my meal. Yes, this place is more expensive than some other options but IT IS ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT. I will be returning and bringing others with me the next time I find myself in Portland.

I am a huge fan of Wilf's. The food is always high quality with excellent presentation. The service is high touch, with a friendly, intimate atmosphere. It has a distinct old school vibe without looking like it's really old and worn down. It's just classy. It's not a cheap meal, but I think it's worth every penny and it's why I keep going back!

I'm giving five stars because my wife and I really enjoyed our experience there. That being said I felt the prices for food were a tad high for the quality. Don't get me wrong the food was really good. There is also a cover charge for the music, I don't mind paying and supporting the musicians but again I thought it was a little high for the quality of entertainment. They also are checking vaccine cards and ID say the door, I totally agree and support it. The staff were wonderful, cheerful and attentive. This sounds silly but one way I judge an establishments cleanliness is the bathroom vent, it's often an overlooked place to clean, theirs were spotless as well as the rest of restaurant. The decor is slightly outdated but all in good taste. Because of the state of Portland right now the surrounding area of the restaurant is a little sketchy, I don't judge the restaurant based on that but it's good to know while visiting. Overall it's a great place to experience and would happily go again. I recommend this place entirely.

Yes, if you sit in the restaurant, not the bar. I took my jazz-loving son there when he was a teen. The bar is at one end of the restaurant, but you can both see and hear just fine from the restaurant.
There's live music- Wilf's is known for jazz. All the tables are in one big room, so everyone is in the audience. If you don't want to pay the cover, you can go on Sunday or Tuesday - there's no music those nights.
We eat there 3 or 4 times a year, always live jazz music.
