I have heard that the Spokane Valley Fire Department sponsors a free give-away program for smoke detectors. Is this true? Where can I get one, if this is true. When i visited Fire Station #1 the door was locked and there was no one to ask.

Benjamin, I would call crime check to start with, 456-2233. You can call into the main number of the fire department, 928-1700 and ask to speak with the fire marshal's office, but I'm not sure what they will be able to do with a private residence.
