I liked it. It's a good place for battered women. But there are politics there, i guess most living places do...? Maybe some women didn't belong there, actually allot of them coulda been at the Union Gospel Mission. But then i would of choose the Y over the Mission any day. Hats off to the staff there. There wasn't a women there i didn't have respect for!! The children were well provided for there, they were made verry comfortable, always! With toys, clothes, food & movies.

Amazing place and program, I'm very grateful for their services, they helped me rebuild my life and provide a safe home for my children.

A work in progress... My experience with the YWCA of Yakima was not very favorable. I'm very scarred and carry some heavy unresolved resentments towards various individuals including some who are still on staff. However somethings have changed within the organization since my time there & I understand there is going be flaws in every program plus it takes some trial and error to build a strong & cohesive programs system. I believe whole heartedly in its mission statement & have the upmost faith in their abilities to becoming great.

Yes
I guess it all depends how is it the end of everything with the whole bunch of stuff going on and all the whole bunch of people and then called them and then they told me to call victim Advocate advocacy place but I called and left a message by the time I hung up from leaving the message they turn around and called me back and told me that they wanted to help me so it all depends on the situation again I know that they help me and my mom in off the streets into a motel room for three days
Yes. But not sure when or where
8-5 mon thru fri
No
Call does not help others to know if their are resources to help people in same situation.
The Y works with other groups so you came to right place
Yes we do
It's best to contact the organization directly. I personally believe abuse is abuse. Someone who is abused be it physically mentally emotionally etc is suffering because of another human being is abusing them. I do not know if this organization has a policy to only serve DV victims. A year ago The YWCA of Yakima turned away a young mother & her 2 small children with no place to go; saying that she did not qualify for services and could not stay at the shelter because she was not a victim of "domestic violence" since her abuser was her parent. (This may have been a isolated incident)
