The people are lovely and the guy at the front desk was so friendly.

First, of all, why do they have to open so late? 2nd: Why the heck do people have to pay $10 a night to stay there? I have never heard of a shelter that does that! And 3rd: Why the flipping heck do men have to shower right in the open??? Don't you know how TRAUMATIZING that could be???

Right as soon as I walk in, the guy doesn't even say "Excuse me, sir. Can I help you?" He just says nothing and stares me down like he was going to beat me up. Finally, I try a semi-futile attempt to break the ice and proceed. The showers are not just a group shower, they have no curtains except for a perfectly clear curtain only there to keep out the water. If you want to shower there, but have PTSD, good luck. They also have a bad lead pipe problem as well as very limited camera coverage. So if the guy at the counter (the one who wanted to beat me up) beats you up, it's your word against his. 2 stars instead of 1 because the other guests here were pretty nice and I felt safe being around them. But just the guests. Also, they do have bathrooms and the bathrooms have curtains instead of stall doors. The curtains are pretty skimpy too

I work here as staff at the Gosple house and the doors open at 5:30pm and stay open till 9pm but you should try to be here before 9 as we only allow showers till 9pm and no showers in the morning and we usually have room but as far as getting a bottom bunk it depends on how many we have open usually we save bottom bunks for men above age of 50 and those who have physical handicaps. Hope this helps and God bless you!!
