A man came to this library seeking nothing but a computer to program the software he'd been working on for over a decade. They kicked him out because of his appearance. He felt so shamed from the ordeal that he ended up killing himself on the nearby train tracks mere hours later. The man was a genius programmer who had a chemical imbalance in his brain. RIP Terry A. Davis.

Nice to be treated so nicely from one curtain librarian. She is so nice and helpful

The Dalles library is the best! Tons of books, good selection of DVDs to rent (which is very convenient) and best if all is the kids area. Cute set up, we love to go weekly to play, check put some books and use the little computers. The ladies working are always so kind, especially the newest lady (sorry, i dont know her name). Each month they do little take home art projects for kids that are fun and something exciting to go get. Thank you to The Dalles Library :)

My kids have loved visiting the library. The staff are very friendly and have always been great help. They have gone above and beyond in keeping the library a fun place to visit, with a teen area, lots of programs for all ages, and activities for young children that keep their creative brains active!

Yes, just go to our website (wascocountylibrary.com) and you'll have full access to our catalog.
I see that someone already answered your question, but I just want to confirm that at this time we are not able to accept payments online. (and yes, it must be cash or check only). Rita @TDPL
We are not yet offering computer services. However, if you have your own device, you can sit outside and access our free wifi. During the phase 2, we are open in a limited capacity, you can come in and check out items, but computers, printers, tables and chairs are all off limits. We will post on our website and Facebook page when we enter phase 3. Please let us know if you have any other questions, you can reach us by phone at 541-296-2815.
Hi Debra, The answer to your question is no, though you are free to make a visit to the library a part of your birthday party celebration. You could come here and play, and then go elsewhere for cake and presents. The meeting is not available for private parties either, meetings in there have to be free and open to the general public. Have you tried WonderWorks? Also, the place that used to be Fun Jumpers (sorry, can't think of the name of it right now), I've heard really good things about them.
