This sports complex has been home to the Senior League (Little League) World Series that featured now-Major Leaguers such as Xander Boegarts of the Boston Red Sox when he was 16 years old and player for his home team from Aruba, and to high school, junior league, American Legion, and other baseball teams, such as the retired Red Sox vs. Bangor Firefighters, too. Most recently, it has made itself available to Alternative Baseball, a league for players 15 years old and older that have learning disabilities. The first team in the State of Maine has just begun practicing at Mansfield Stadium. They play by pro baseball rules, they have experienced coaches, and the team members range in age from 15 to 45 years old, with both men and women on the team. Not only is Mansfield a great place to see a game, but it's also donating the use of the field and the time on it to this new League, which earns it 5 stars in my book.

It's ok but too many skateboarders hogging the skateboard park and acting like they own it not letting Outsiders in not cool looks like we might have to have a security guard walk this place just to keep people in line that's sad that we can't get along and Harmony and peace

Yes it is a very nice place to go, but they need to work on cleaning it more.

Not a fan of wood chips. Kids get splinters and I had one that pierced through rubber soles into my foot. Could have stabed a child's knees, hands or face.

It was $4/adult $2/kid and that is for Bangor residents for an entire day. You cam leave and come back if you want. It cost $1 to rent a lifejacket for the day.

Dis Steven King help build this and the ball field park.? My son is doing a report. Thanks Lisa

Well sort of...he donated some of the money necessary to build the sports complex as well as the "original" all wooden Creative Playground, which has since been replaced with more modern nondescript playground equipment this stripping OT of its wonderful originality
