My husband and I took the Sugar Island 3 hour cruise. It was fun and absolutely beautiful with the fall colors at peak. Their speaker was excellent and I could hear the narration anywhere on the boat. Their narrator enunciated his speech and it was a pleasure to hear him. The views were worth every minute on the boat. We also had lunch on the boat and it was good and satisfying. I recommend this experience to everyone. Take the cruise, you won't regret it.

View is fantastic. People are great. We had a very leisure time. Great place to bring the family. We watched the planes as they took off and landed on the water.

Passengers are instructed to wear face coverings if they are unable to social distance. Are you aboard the boat right now? Have you asked the other passenger to put her mask on? If you will specify where you are sitting, I will call my crew and ask them to assist you.

Hello Rachel, While waiting to board the Katahdin we encourage passenger groups to socially distance from one another. We call passengers by group over the intercom when it comes time to board and all of our seating is organized with six feet of space from group to group. Passengers must wear face coverings while boarding and when social distancing aboard isn't possible (such as when using restrooms). We have also limited the number of passengers to ensure that social distancing can be accomplished. Orders for the galley are done on paper so that nobody has to stand in line. The continued health of our passengers and crew are the highest priority for us and these are the procedures we have in place to ensure that everyone cruises safely. Best regards, Liz McKeil, Executive Director

This past winter we replaced our 68-year-old Detroit Diesel 6-110 engines with a new Caterpillar C-18, replaced a generator and completely replaced the boat's electrical systems. Total cost of the project was approximately $730,000.
