My son was admitted to this hospital and received great treatment from ER nurses and staff. He had a great nurse, Abbey and a wonderful CNA, Sidney, who went above and beyond!! The respiratory therapists were amazing, especially Seth!! However, when you have your love one admitted on hospice, don't keep them on it in the hospital!!! You can terminate services and restart it while they are home. If you keep them on hospice while inpatient, the nurses and hospice nurses will push the morphine and Ativan every hour, not feed your love one, will not give any other active medications, no vitals, and no further testing. Also, there are no respiratory therapists on the weekends, which needs to be rectified. I want other families to be informed because Hospice does not explain this to the family. Had we known this, we would have never done it!!!

I was recently a patient in this hospital. This little gem of a hospital pleasantly changed my mind about not getting good hospital care in Maine. Not only was I cared for professionally, but I was also cared for by the most caring staff of Dr's, and the nurses were exceptional with the hearts of angels! The lab was fantastic with my bad veins and did not give up! They were very gentle and caring.

Great medical staff yet the staff who run entrance were very rude people. Didn't even make eye contact with me. Maybe fire them and get people who wanna work. On the same date I had blood drawn. The nurse kept poking and jabbing at me and then hit a nerve in my arm. Now I have nerve damage in my arm since then. If it continues I will have to seek legal advice.

Not only was the wait unnecessarily long for there only being one other person in front of me, but the nurses and other faculty (from what I experienced) didn't even seem to know what they were doing. The rooms were dirty, the care was awful, and overall an awful experience. For starters I just went in to get a strep test done, since my primary care doctor was unavailable, which ended up taking me 4 1/2 hours from the time I walked in the door to the time I left. I would also like to say that out of the 5 people that talked to me, all of them were relatively unhelpful. I had already waited for an hour before getting swabbed (test results are supposed to take 20-30 minutes) and ended up waiting another 2 before being put in a room. I then waited in this room for another 20 minutes before a new nurse came in and informed me that they used the wrong test the first time, requiring me to get swabbed again, wait for results, wait for the doctor, and then wait another 30 minutes to actually get the medicine. For this being my first impression of this place, I can tell you I have little to no respect or liking of this hospital and will definitely be going somewhere else for efficient, comfortable care when needed.

Not sure. If you have any questions or concerns I would recommend speaking to Kate Mccarron. She answered all questions and/or concerns during my fathers 6 week stay.
