A great place to dine with excellent ocean views. When we went on the weekend, we hardly found table and it took a long time for the order to be taken and delivered. We went to the same place on weekday, 1 or 2 tables were full. I definitely recommend going on weekdays. Excellent milkshakes...

Absolutely enjoyed dinner with a view. Enjoyed the fish n chips dinner with a yummy vanilla shake. My hubby had the burger and it was so delicious. Everything we ate was so fresh. Enjoyed watching people fish and families eating on the outside patio. Got to check it out.

Lighting fast service! Excellent milkshake. Great place to pass a little time waiting for the sunset.

Ruby's diner never fails the food is always delicious. This particular Ruby diner is at the end of the Balboa Pier, so the views are absolutely beautiful. You're sitting in the middle of the ocean looking at the shore or out into the deep fast ocean. Since most of the seating is outside you do have to contend with flies and birds, the views definitely outweigh any negative. It was hard for me to hear the staff ordering through the window, but they were polite for the most part . This is definitely a great place to bring kids to grab a bite because of the fun views and surrounding areas.

J - Thank you for asking. The remaining stores are not anticipated to close. We look forward to seeing you soon at one of our locations!
Many people fishing, yes. No space and it is often busy inside the restaurant so I doubt they'd do this. But it would be nice, yes. A fun idea
If you eat outside then yes. I saw dogs there when we went.
No, it's located at the end of Balboa Pier, off a family beach
I believe it's because trying to add another plumbing system for the end of the peer would be too expensive and dangerous; another reason may be that it could violate the historical aspect of it being the first Ruby's Diner, similar to how historical houses can't be remodeled.
