Highly recommend SMS Tampa! Poppy Lou started the board and train program when she was a puppy and she just turned 3 and we still love going back for group class! The owners and staff are very responsive, treat your dog like their own and they’re always willing to help!

I was having trouble with my (at the time) 6-month old Australia Cattle Dog puppy. She is extremely intelligent and loves to lean new tricks and commands; however, she would only follow commands when she wanted to. The attitude and determination with this dog was honestly incredible, but it strained our relationship. Mostly because she would spite pee, while staring me in the eyes even though she knew she was supposed to potty outside. She would throw temper tantrums and bark excessively anytime I tried to get her to do something she didn't want to. After speaking with my vet and reading some articles online, I thought Sit Means Sit would be a good fit. Sophie has zero motivation to work for treats or praise and I was at a loss. Sophie was prescribed the 3-Day drop off program as well as unlimited group classes for one year. Although it was expensive, it was well worth every penny as both Sophie and I are much happier. Sit Means Sit does use e-collars; this is not to be confused as a shock collar. E-collar's use muscle stimulation (contraction) much like an athletic trainer or chiropractor uses (I've used them quite a few times myself). This is not meant to be a punishment for the dog. It is to gain their attention when necessary and help them focus on the task at hand. I was skeptical at first, but the results have been phenomenal. I thought Sophie would hate going to training or be scared to go back, but she gets so excited whenever we pull up to the building. She has worked mostly with their trainer Amanda, and they're now best friends. Sophie doesn't really care for people; she is very much attached to me and that's it. She is not a golden retriever that wants to be pet by everyone lol. Yet, every time we go to class, she gets super excited to run and say hi to Amanda which is how I know she does a great job working with my Cattle Dog.

The day train was so convenient for our schedule, and the trainers took amazing care of Nash throughout the day. Nash came home a brand new puppy after every session, and I believe we made the best decision for his training and for purposes of our family's schedule to go to Sit Means Sit.

My wife and I lost all three of our long-time pets within a one month period from different medical issues. It was a very difficult experience. However, we knew we needed a pet in the home to pour all of that love into and to help take care of our kids. That’s when Daisy entered our life. As is the cliché, she was as crazy as she was beautiful! Although she was a good dog, she had some so much energy and “puppy” habits that we were on the verge of regretting our decision. We turned to Sit Means Sit to help us balance out the Crazy Daisy side with the Lazy Daisy side, hoping just to learn a few tips and tricks to get some control. Instead, in only 4 sessions of training, it was like we had a whole new dog. We have all of the best traits of Daisy, but with a renewed focus and responsiveness. Sure, she is still a puppy and acts like one from time to time, but the difference over a month is amazing! Most importantly, we no longer have any concerns over Daisy being around our 1 & 3 year old sons (she was quite mouthy). The wife and I are extremely happy with our decision and can’t say enough to praise the professional and kind nature of the trainers who are truly passionate about what they do! We plan to continue to attend group classes because of how impressed we have been. I highly recommend Sit Means Sit for any dog parents who feel they need a little more control over their fur baby(ies)!
