I’ve been at Jordan Point since buying my boat in June of 2003. From the beginning, the owners & staff were welcoming, helpful & bent over backwards to ease this rookie’s entry into boating. Even after the devastation of Hurricane Isabel, through the rebuilding, the owners/staff were more than accommodating. The bathrooms are fine. Pool was almost always available and maintained as one would expect. Yeah, stuff breaks and goes out of service. You deal with it. As with any change in ownership, things will and should change. It’s naïve to expect otherwise. The new management has been overly helpful in my opinion. They accommodate many requests and if there is a conflict, we find an amicable resolution. All anyone should expect. In my 18 years here, I’ve seen a lot. The vast majority of it has been great. I’ve checked out other marinas including those all the way he down in Tidewater area. If you live in central VA, own a boat, want convenient access to it and the water, and enjoy the company of like minded boat owners, there is no better place on the upper James. In the end, it is what you make it. Good or bad, it’s not this Marina’s ownership or staff, it’s us, the boat owner’s. For me there is no better place.

I stopped by one evening to launch my kayak. The person in the store was very friendly and charged me 5 dollars, which seemed reasonable. I was able to launch from the beautiful white sandy beach next to the huge parking lot. If you go past the short row of houses toward Indian Point you come upon an awesome section of riverbank that is forested to the edge with clean gravel beaches. Around the point is a small and picturesque stream to explore.

Jordan Point Marina was an excellent experience until the new owner came. I was hoping that changing ownership does not change the level of customer service, but I was so wrong. I had my boat stored at this marina in the past 2 years, and this year I decided to upgrade to a lift slip. I was so happy when I was offered the slip back in January, 2021. I even prepay for the whole year. Soon enough, before enjoying the wet slip with the lift I was informed that I have to remove the trailer by end of March since there are constructions scheduled in the boatyard. The agreement was for the wet slip with the dry slip for the trailer. I do understand that the new owner will plan to modernize the boatyard, but you cannot change the rules while you are playing. This is just NOT good business. Be aware folks who are coming here for years, there are changes, and unfortunately not good ones for you.

Nope, go to Hereticks in Hopewell!
Hi Marvin, we do sell 87 octane non-ethanol gasoline. Our current price is $2.89 per gallon.
Yes Justin at Jordan Point Marine.
Joseph, we are between 3 and 6 ft at low tide. Bottom is very soft, fuel dock is deepest but approach can get down to 3 ft. Thanks, Mike Winn
Kayak with single-vehicle parking and no trailer is $5, payable in the ship store if open or the honor box at the ramp if the store is closed.
