Today I experienced possibly the worst experience you can have with a hotel. My wife works for Marriott and we booked five rooms around 2 months ago. Marriott has a deal where you can get an associate rate for your spouse and for your parents. You can also book for your friends and family that are traveling with you for additional rooms at a little higher rate but lower than full price. Sometime during our 6-hour journey to the hotel today, the general manager (Susan Little) called and left a voicemail that they could not honor the rates that were booked online. I guess they had no time to notify us in the previous 60 days? Since she did very little to try to help us out today I now I can understand her last name. Anyhow, when we got there she said the policy only allowed us to get two rooms and I said the policy said we could get two rooms at the associate rate and additional rooms for immediate family at the friends rate. She said she had worked there for 10 years and knew the policy backwards and forwards and I was wrong and she was only going to give me two rooms at the associate rate and the rest would be $50 higher than what was booked. My wife then went on to the Marriott website and signed in and print it off the sheet that shows the rate details which said as an associate you could get two rooms and additional rooms would be at the friends and family rate. The general manager was then upset because I proved he wrong and she said she would not honor the friends and family rate. I then asked for the phone number to corporate so I could call in a complaint after which the general manager, Susan Little, decided to cancel all of the rooms and now we had no rooms available to us. We then went over to the Hampton across the street and after explaining Fairfield's terrible customer service and treatment we received Hampton gave us a lower rate beating the Fairfield Inn associate rate which ended up being a much nicer hotel than the Fairfield Inn. I would definitely check out the Hampton before checking in to the Fairfield inn. And after this experience I will not be coming back to the Fairfield inn and suites by Marriott at Kansas City anytime in the future. Attached is the policy so decide for yourself about the policy.

We showed up as a group and had reservations for 5 rooms. The rooms were made from an employee discount from my sister-in-law. When she went to pay the they told her the discount would only work on two rooms. The rooms were reserved 2 months prior. We had previous reservations in North Platte Nebraska and had no problems there. Susan Little the manager of this hotel cream should honor if we could find and in the policy saying we could do what we had done, and we did and she did not honor of anyway. Then we are going to complain to corporate so she decided she would cancel our five room reservation and told us we had to leave because we had no reservations anymore. I would highly recommend never staying at this hotel, not trying to give Marriott a bad name but this hotel is a terrible hotel. At least the general manager Susan Little.

The rooms are super tiny, esp the bathroom. No mirrors in the room. Our toleit we had to flush 3 or 4 times. Sink and tub were backed up. The room smelled like mold. The beds were twin size stated queen. I would not recommend this hotel. My guess it was re branded to a Marriott. Use to be a different hotel.

The hotel was very full, yet the staff kept it all together with fast service and smiles. Good parking for buses. Great location, near a lot of restaurants. Bed was comfy and room quiet.
