I love the stories behind the naming of distilleries. Tom’s Town Distillery is a throwback to times of old when Boss Tom ran KC and the people indeed were thirsty. This small, but well-appointed distillery offers tours, space for private events, and a classy bar that whips up amazing cocktails using their spirits. I’m partial to the Double Oaked Bourbon, so I bought a few bottles. Cheers!

Classy, art deco speakeasy atmosphere. Some award-winning spirits, and some that are interesting one-offs (e.g. Machine series). Convenient for the convention crowd.

A friend and I were visiting KC for the weekend and decided to go on a distillery tour. We purchased our tickets online the same day. There happened to be a wedding taking place that night, but that didn't interfere with the tour at all. The atmosphere was pleasant and neat. The tour itself was VERY enjoyable! Ben was a great guide. He broke down the tour into three parts, used humor, and was very knowledgeable. I hadn't ever done a tasting before and wasn't sure I would enjoy it, but I loved it. Their bourbon and vodka were absolutely delicious. I don't like gin at all but it wasn't the worst thing I've ever had. Some of the other tour guests that preferred gin to vodka and bourbon absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, my friend and I had reservations right after the tour so we weren't able to stay any longer. But I'd 100% recommend this distillery and tour to friends.

First time visiting Tom's Town Distilling Co. Definitely check it out during the holidays as everything is decorated oh so pretty! This place utilizes all the floors for different operations (distilling, merch, event space, etc.) We got to take a peek at the distillery operations & learned more about the history of prohibition here in KC from the head distiller, Brian Harper. If you love history and you love booze, this is the place for you. I don't drink alcohol & was able to fully enjoy my time here.

Yes! There are tours to observe the distillery and there are tasters as well
Yes there is!
You may join any tour that hasn't started and isn't full. Making a reservation is the only way to guarantee a spot. We look forward to seeing you!
