Today Tony and I took a Daytrip over into Virginia near the Clifton Forge~Covington area (about 20 miles over the Border) I was able to locate via Google maps, Island Ford Cave and knew we had to check it out. GPS from Google Maps took us straight to the Cave entrance. Just enough parking for 2 vehicles. There was a small bud there, not sure how many in the group because they were down in the Cave. It's a self guided tour in which you have to crawl into, we were A: Not dressed for it, B: it was sort of muddy in there and C: Too old and did I mention Too Old for Cave crawling!! But hey it's easy to find, Free to enjoy and VERY DARK So don't forget your light

Neat to explore as it's not that big
dusty lannon
Pretty cool, if you're going back in, bring gear and a friend, it goes back 1400 feet, but it's not easy and it's not for kids, unless of course they stay out in the main cave near the road

Beautiful very easy cave for first timers. About 1.5 miles of passageways. Very little climbing involved. If interested, always do research on gear to use/ bring with you to stay safe and check with local grottoes on advice and help. Also check out Avid Caver's group on Facebook for more advice.

There are no gates or security that would block you, so you should be fine!
This is a wild cave, so no tours as you would find at say Luray Caverns. Some caving groups explore the cave from time to time, but that's the closest you'll get to a tour
