Was referred to Dr. Kevin from my daughter. I had been experiencing neck and shoulder pain and issues. He did a thorough job with intake and assessment, as well with explaining details and procedure.

My first visit there was great. I actually learned a lot of very helpful and important information from Dr. Kevin. He is a very nice doctor, I feel extremely comfortable around him, normally I am very shy and awkward with meeting new people, even in the health field. However Dr. Kevin shows compassion and care for his patients. He gives you a lot of explain detail on things and answer any questions you may have. And let’s not forget to mention the amazing beautiful receptionist. She is very kind, funny, makes you feel extremely comfortable and like you’re at a second home. Debbie the receptionist and Dr. Kevin are definitely people who make you feel wanted and welcome.

Beacon got me in on short notice. I was in SO much pain. Felt so much better after just one visit. I had my second visit yesterday, I am almost 100%. Would recommend this Chiropractor to anyone.

I have used Chiropractors for years. They would come in and just start snapping and cracking on you without much to go on. That's not Dr. Kevin! I was pleasantly surprised with my initial visit, as he sat down with me and asked questions about my overall health to get a better idea on the problem. And yes, others would ask questions, but not as extensively. I am impressed with their professionalism, Dr. Kevin's (Magic), Jamie and the staff are all very pleasant to work with. I had a procedure done on my shoulder that caused more than enough pain for a life time. The pain was a mixture of the surgery and a fall I had on my stairs about a year prior to the surgery. When I started Physical Therapy I was in so much pain for the longest time, so much so that they thought I wasn't following the exercises they gave me. I finally went to Dr. Kevin. What a wonderful thing he did for me! (On the very first visit). My pain level on a scale of 1 to 10 was about a 30. No kidding. I had 2 pinched nerves in my neck and upper back that amplified the normal pain from the Occipital Nerve that happens with surgery. I was in so much pain I cried all the time. But when I left Beacon Chiropractic my pain level went from a 30 to a reasonable 8. It was the best night sleep I had in weeks! My Orthopedist was shocked at how far along I was in my recovery at my post surgery appointment. I am going to put all the blame on Dr. Kevin! My Orthopedist said that she had not seen a patient at the level of recovery that I am in the amount of time I had. I still see Dr. Kevin and am always greeted as a friend every time I visit! Very nice place!

Questions & Answers

What are the benefits of Chiropractic?

Often pain is the number one motivator to seek chiropractic care, which chiropractic is great at relieving. However, in my opinion, the number one benefit of a chiropractic adjustment is to optimize flow between your brain and your cells. Therefore, it strengthens your immune system, improves organ function (heart, lung, digestive, sinuses, muscles, etc). all while increasing joint mobility, joint function, and integrity. It changes the tone of muscles (decreases spasm, increases flaccidity). Joints that do not move properly generate arthritis so chiropractic helps decrease that. Makes tight muscles loose and loose muscles tight and improves the contractibility (thereby strength) of the muscle thereby improving athletic performance. Added benefits are increased energy, better sleep quality, more clarity, improved overall quality of life. Since pregnant women cannot take medications it provides relief from discomfort and decreasing the length of their labor and back pain.

Can Chiropractic help with Arthritis or Osteoarthritis?

Beacon Chiropractic | Aug 18, 2021
Beacon Chiropractic | Aug 18, 2021

Many people believe that osteoarthritis (or simply “arthritis”) is “just part of the aging process.” But this myth is easily refuted. Answer this question, “Do you have any joints that are less arthritic than others?” If you replied, “Yes”, then answer this question, “How is it possible to have different levels of arthritis in different joints if it is caused by purely the aging process?” The obvious answer is “you can’’, so that means arthritis must have a different cause other than just age. It comes from a subluxated (misaligned) joint with faulty biomechanics, Since a joint that does not move properly will put undue stress on it and it compensates by trying to lock the joint done by growing spurs..

Can Chiropractic Help Posture?

Beacon Chiropractic | Aug 18, 2021
Beacon Chiropractic | Aug 18, 2021

Your head weighs about 10 pounds. Every inch your head is forward of center, it creates an additional 10 pounds of weight on your neck causing abnormal wear on your neck joints which can create degeneration or osteoarthritis (often just called arthritis). So, if you have a forward head carriage of two inches, your head would weigh about 30 pounds and that can create the feeling of a “heavy head” by the end of your day. A forward head posture also increases the likelihood of neck pain, mid back pain, headaches, and TMJ symptoms.

An exciting study showing the effectiveness of natural medicine was recently published. The state of Illinois did a 7 year study (2000 – 2007) in which participants could choose between a chiropractor and a naturopath (vast majority were chiropractors) as their primary care provider (PCP) or choose a medical doctor as their PCP. The study revealed significant health care savings for those people who chose the “natural” doctor. Research suggests that natural medicine from chiropractors and naturopaths is well utilized, effective, and has high patient satisfaction.
