The float was good. But the worker didn't help much getting the kayak in and helped even less getting the kayak out. After the long float it was the last thing we expected was to have to get the kayak all the way up the hill.

I had a great time! I would however recommend they have people helping you pull your kayaks/canoes out of the water when you're done. They didn't and that was a beast to do. Otherwise, I had a great time and would highly recommend this place to others.

There is no way to sugar coat this but I want to start by saying the owner was very nice and informative. The rental equipment, transportation and service are the reasons for this low rating. The canoe we were given was loaded on the trailer (upside down) before we got there but was told it was the best canoe with seats they had (we didn’t look.) When we got to the water both seat backs were totally broken (both seats had broken hinges and the lines that hold the backrest upright were also broken.) 3hrs hunched over was no fun. We specifically asked for one with seats with a back. At the end of our run the person who picked us up at the river offered no help in carrying / sliding the canoe up the steep incline. The old van used to transport customers to and from the river should have been retired a long time ago. There was mold and mildew everywhere. The roof liner was hanging down on your head and where there were rips you could see lots of mold and mildew. The driver was a nice guy, but drove like he was in the Indy 500. At $60 a canoe I expected much better equipment and service. Again, the owner and worker were both very nice and polite, but in my opinion they’ve just lost focus on what service they are providing. I’ve been to this area twice now and I’ll be back again, but next time I’ll check out the other rental companies. Their equipment looked better maintained (I saw others on the river who rented from them.) Cave Country Canoe needs to reinvest in their company equipment maintenance and repair. Get rid of that dangerous van, and focus on their customer service. Helping us haul out would have earned the driver a much bigger tip too.
