Teeth extractions in my cat turned into an eye infection the very next day. They prescribed eye drops that only made it worse. They advised me to wait and it will get better. It didn’t, her eyeball ruptured, and she had to go to Tanasbourne ER for emergency eye removal. This was caused by Dr. Lord screwing something up during teeth extractions and getting bacteria where it shouldn’t have, as a cat’s eye is very close to their teeth. And then Dr. Lord did the bare minimum to fix the infection. This is not the first time she’s messed up a pet’s eye. Read the reviews at Pearl Animal hospital, where she use to work. Do not trust Dr.Lord or any of the staff at Cathedral or Kenton animal hospitals, as they had all “put their heads together” on this one. This is a photo that they took at the clinic one of the multiple days I brought my cat back in after the extractions, and then advised me that it would “likely get better with time.” They never advised or arranged for me to see a specialist. Just because your name is Dr. Lord doesn’t mean you know everything. Be a good doctor and advise your patients see a specialist when you don’t know what’s going on. Or better yet, find a different career.

Thank you to the entire staff at Cathedral Animal Hospital for the care you’ve had for our cat and all the families that come in for health care for their beloved animals. We’ve seen Dr. Victoria and Emily for our cat and they are so talented and informative. You both have made such a difference in our family and the health of our Olly, forever grateful!

So I rarely write reviews and I believe most people only write reviews when they are angry, but I’m here to write a positive review because this hospital is simply amazing! I’d give them 10 stars if I could! I practice a more holistic care routine for my pets and prefer to go to an integrative vet when possible. I went through several vets up in the Seattle area where I used to live. I finally found a pretty good one right before we moved down to the Vancouver area. I was very worried I wouldn’t find a good vet down here, plus most vets weren’t taking new patients. Add to that my cat was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and I was pretty stressed. I was worried I’d be making the 3 hour drive back to Seattle for our vet appts, not a fun prospect. Anyways, I was going to an ok traditional vet here in Vancouver for a couple months, that I wasn’t too thrilled about, but at least I could get in. I was on the wait list at Cathedral and when a spot opened up I took it. I saw Dr Victoria with my kitty and she is amazing! Probably the best vet I’ve been to in a very long time, and I’ve been through several vets! She was very thorough and explained everything to me. She actually listened to me which a lot of vets I’ve been to have not, especially because I prefer holistic methods. For the first time I don’t feel like I need to second guess everything, and I know she has my cats best interests in mind. I love that she knows eastern medicine and herbs and was on the exact same page as me as far as the care I want to provide. My cat has been getting regular acupuncture treatments and he seems more and more relaxed with his sessions each time. Also he is relaxed when he comes home and doesn’t hide like he normally does after a vet visit. I also want to give a shout out to Cathedral for getting my pup in last minute when he tweaked something in his neck and was in a lot of pain. I couldn’t get him into any 24 hour clinics because they were all booked. I left a somewhat frantic message on their voicemail and they promptly called me back the next morning and got my boy in that day. He got acupuncture and laser and he was a new dog when he left the clinic. dr Victoria also sent home some meds just in case we had issues over the weekend since it was a Friday. I love that she’s willing to do both western and eastern medicine depending on the issue which is perfect. I ve had nothing but good experiences with all the staff members I’ve interacted with and while I’ve just been seeing Dr. Victoria, I’m sure all the Drs are great at this clinic. I’m so happy to have finally found the perfect vet clinic that practices in an integrative way. I’ve been looking for a very long time, and while I’ve come close with a few clinics, there were still issues with those. I haven’t had a single issue with Cathedral and it is such a relief to not have to worry about whether I’m going to be second guessing or have a vet not be on the same page as I.

Unfortunately, we are not set up for birds. The Avian and Exotic Veterinary Care takes bird patients though! :)

Is Dr. Sonny back yet

No he is not back yet The new doctor is still filling in for Sonny. Sonny would not just any ole vet in there to care for fur babies. Sonny is away doing things that needed to be cared for away from clinic.
