The catfish at Houstons always seemed under cooked. I tried it twice. When I heard it was a different owner thought I would give it a try. No different. Some people must just like it that way but not me.

Arrived at Gallaghers at 9:40am. Not too busy. Got seated and got drinks. Ordered our food. And we waited... and waited.. and waited. For 40 minutes we waited while our server never really came to see if we needed anything. I'm a fairly patient person, and being the patient person I am I did not say anything. The table beside us did though. They asked a waitress if she could check on the food. They said it will be coming out in just a minute. 20 mins later they still didn't have their food. Neither did we. I am assuming our orders never actually went in because our server was writing it down on a note pad and someone came over to the other table to ask them what they had ordered. As soon as I saw that I knew the order was not going to be correct. He was trying to write it down from memory. The other table finally got their food. They had almost finished their meal by the time ours finally came out. Except it was not correct. So at 11am we walked out. Just wasted an hour and half of fathers day and now we still have to find somewhere to eat. Except now breakfast is over. I am 8 months pregnant and wanted breakfast. Another table came over to us to apologize for the horrible service and said it happened to them a few weeks ago. If our server had checked on us like most servers do he would have known that we had been waiting forever and maybe they would have caught the issue sooner. A few tables got up and walked out due to the slow service. I saw plenty of servers in there and they did not look short staffed and they only had maybe 8-10 tables. I live maybe 5 minutes away and if I had good service this would have been a convenient place for breakfast and lunch. I highly doubt I will ever be back.

Some of the best catfish I've had in a long time. Will definitely be going back for more meals. Atmosphere was wonderful, and the waitress and staff were absolutely fabulous. Highly recommend Houston's. If you're in the White Bluff area it's a good place to go have dinner lunch breakfast. I wouldn't miss a meal out there. I say go try it real soon!
