This organization has helped me so much its unbelievable. During COVID I needed help with rent, it took time don't get me wrong this isn't something that is usually same day but they saved my place for me. I still continue to get help from then when needed. They help with rent, utilities, etc. They have many helpful programs for the help you need. They are helpful, follow through, and will help you every step of the way. Definitely a gem!

They have really helped me out in the past when I was caught between a rock and hard place especially when I was doing everything I could but it was still not enough. Thank you times a million for your dedicated work and kindness.

Awesome place to get you back on your feet, provide toiletries, City bus tokens, financial help, awesome staff,a little short staffed but if call a couple of days in advance, they will have your care package ready for you at the front desk,so you just gotta pop in and give them your name as long as your registered grab your stuff and your out the door, pretty convenient for those with a busy schedule.

Do you have any programs to help individuals in financial hardship? I'm having trouble paying all my bills this month. Thanks

Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council | Jul 19, 2022

Julie, Yes, we have programs which may be beneficial to you, some are based on your household income. Support includes access to food, rental assistance (sorry, we do not have programs for mortgage assistance), utility (water, electric, propane, sewer, garbage). I would suggest you call our office to schedule an appointment. More information is available on our website: www.cdcac.org Phone: 509-662-6156 We are open Mon-Thur 8am to 5pm and Friday 8am to 4pm.

Does community action still have a program that helps with divorce filing and paperwork for low income individuals and if so how does someone contact?

Shannon, I'm sorry to say we no longer offer legal assistance. There are two other organizations in Wenatchee who provide no-cost legal help and arbitration services. Volunteer Attorney Services: 509-663-2778 Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution Center: 509- 888-0957 Thank you.

What phone number can we get a live person; the number listed on -line is just ringing busy, busy?

509-662-6156, our phone line is very busy. Please try again.

My group has contributed to many non profits. Is there a listing those available--what they do and offer-clients served, vetting, days hours that I can contact. I use Serve Wenatchee. We wish to help smaller groups.

April, I hope you are doing well. This is a frequently asked question, and attempts to create a non-profit resource guide have not been fruitful. A couple of resources include local Chamber of Commerce member directories and the Community Foundation of NCW. While we might not be classified as a smaller agency by your groups measurement, we certainly are a far reaching organization addressing food insecurity, housing needs, English as a Second Language, energy assistance, home weatherization and more throughout Chelan and Douglas Counites. Not likely but there used to be help at the senior center

When we needed help with our utility bill and didn't qualify because we had al-ready been helped with propane, we were directed to a PUD assistance program. You actually called PUD right then. Is it still available and can anyone call them.

I would think that you would be able to call cause there should be a note or something attached to your file saying that they called for you already
