OTF is a place I can go to work hard and feel satisfied without having to think about the details. I always think I will take it “easy” but I never do and I appreciate that. It’s better than an online class or something by myself. The coaches and community push me to be my best and set small goals to ensure I can measure progress and celebrate the little wins. I highly recommend trying this. It’s A well rounded workout and hasn’t let me down for the last 7 years!!! Now that’s a milestone!

Amazing workouts and motivating coaches! Workouts are always challenging and designed to work for any type of fitness level. After just trimming for years I needed to cross train. This is the perfect balance heart rate based cardio and strength training. The studio is clean and the front desk staff is friendly. Try a class, you won’t regret it!

There is no other place I would rather be at 5am. Orangetheory Carlsbad has created an environment that makes everyone feel welcomed and included no matter where they are in their fitness journey. I have been a member at Orangetheory for over 4 years and I often visit other studios while traveling for work or pleasure and no other studio has compared to the Carlsbad studio. Carlsbad makes it a point to welcome every guest and makes sure that they feel comfortable the second they step into the gym. I have met life long friends through Orangetheory, who inspire me daily to achieve my fitness goals and hold me accountable. The head coach Sarah is the best there is, she continually inspires members and provides valuable feedback and corrections of form. Sarah also takes the time to get to know each member and listen to their feedback and she uses the feedback to make Carlsbad an even better studio than it already it is. Through Sarah's coaching I have improved my endurance, speed, and the amount of weight I am able to lift as well as I have seen my body transform to show clear muscle definition. Every Employee of Carlsbad are beyond amazing and kind - From the front desk, who assist you with any issue you have and take the time to learn your name and preference of location to start your workout to the other coaches I take classes with (Kiki, Mitch, Shane), who each bring a different element to the workout and enhance the amazing environment Carlsbad has created to the manager Annie, who is always available to handle any issues that arises. I tell anyone and everyone how amazing Orangetheory Carlsbad is and would never hesitate to recommend this studio. Oranegtheory Carlsbad is simply the best Orangetheory studio there is!

I love the instruction from the coaches (special shout out to Coach Sarah, Coach Mitch, and Coach Kiki!) and how they provide modifications if needed. We are constantly challenge ourselves, but also being able to do what our individual bodies need. I like the rotation from tread, to row, to floor. It keeps things interesting. I love the community but also feeling like I'm not in a competition with the person next to me.

If you’ve already been doing Orangetheory and become pregnant, check with your doctor first. Our heart rate monitoring is a perfect way to keep an eye on your intensity as you progress through your pregnancy. If you are a few months into your pregnancy and haven’t been doing any sort of fitness training, wait until after you have your baby and we can help get you back into shape!
Absolutely. Our coaches are trained to provide options for each exercise on the floor, in addition to offering a low-impact bike and strider alternative in place of the treadmill for lower body injuries or orthopedic restrictions.
Of course. Orangetheory is geared toward ALL levels of fitness and everyone is free and encouraged to go at their own pace. We recommend trying a free introductory workout, then discussing any thoughts or questions you may have regarding your fitness goals, with your coach.
Splat Points indicate minutes spent in the orange and red zones. Aim for 12 or more Splat Points per class.
Orangetheory is 5 Zone heart rate based interval training using specifically designed and timed interval training blocks. During a workout, members focus on Zones 3, 4 and 5. The workouts are designed to produce 12 minutes or more in Zones 4 & 5 combined (to achieve the after burn) during the treadmill training portion of the workout.
We’ll ask that you arrive no more than 15 minutes before workout and avoid congregating in the lobby.

Our workout room has a variety of equipment including treadmills (bikes and striders as alternatives), WaterRowers, and floor equipment including dumbbells, benches, TRX suspension trainers, medicine balls, BOSU trainers and AB Dollys.
Orangetheory is a 1-hour, full body workout, focused on training to build endurance, strength and power. We use heart rate-based interval training, which burns more calories post-workout than traditional exercise. When wearing our heart rate monitors, your real-time results are displayed on large screens throughout the studio. Intensity is based on your individual heart rate zones, making the workout effective for all fitness levels. To top it off, our fitness coaches lead the workout to prevent you from overtraining or undertraining.
OTbeat™ is our exclusive heart rate monitoring technology. Members have the unique experience of seeing real-time data during their workout, enabling them to push themselves to new limits. After class, they can then monitor their improvements through emailed results and by using the Orangetheory Fitness app.

Depends on which membership but it is totally worth it! 79 - 179. But you get your first class free to try it out. They also have class packs of you don't want the monthly. That is how I started...but then I got hooked! Having more endurance and strength for life is priceless. They also occasionally run upgrade specials.
