I have been a member of Orangetheory La Costa for over 6 months and it has been a phenomenal opportunity for growth. I had previously experimented with standard gym workouts, Pilates, my own outdoor activities…..none of those options left me very satisfied. I decided to give Orangetheory a try after hearing good things from a few trusted sources. The first class was a lot to swallow. But my coach, Dani, and the other members made me feel welcome. I decided to join and began attending classes on a regular basis. The coaches are all quite talented and genuine. They bring their own inspiration to the table which has helped me to remain open minded. Anthony makes a point of acknowledging everyone as they come in to begin class, ensuring we all know we’re supposed to be there, whether you’re up for it or not. Shane makes sure you’re on point with your weight floor form and grants a shoutout as the screen shifts from green to orange — Especially those who manage to throw an “orange party.” Adena’s voice keeps me feeling strong through an all-out and she makes sure your rowing form is inline, so you don’t waste any energy. Beyond the charisma of the coaches and the ability to personalize your own workout not some of the time, but every time, I’ve kept coming back because each class remains a new opportunity. The classes are both isolated events and also a chance to track growth without unnecessary pressure or expectation. Every time I show up, I am greeted by a friendly face and the momentum just continues from there.

Orangetheory La Costa is a game changing workout experience. I love seeing the metrics in real time to guage my progress and track improvements. The environment is great! I love the music, the fitness equipment and the great instruction. BUT what makes OTF La Costa truly epic is the people! Coaches Anthony, Brooke, Adena, Jess and the others are just AMAZING! They make the workouts awesome and make coming back easy. And the front desk staff are sweetest. They always remember your name and which station you prefer to start on. It feels like a family! Hooked on OTF La Costa!

I’m pregnant. Can I still do the workout?

If you’ve already been doing Orangetheory and become pregnant, check with your doctor first. Our heart rate monitoring is a perfect way to keep an eye on your intensity as you progress through your pregnancy. If you are a few months into your pregnancy and haven’t been doing any sort of fitness training, wait until after you have your baby and we can help get you back into shape!

I have issues with (part of the body). Can I still do your workout?

Absolutely. Our coaches are trained to provide options for each exercise on the floor, in addition to offering a low-impact bike and strider alternative in place of the treadmill for lower body injuries or orthopedic restrictions.

Of course. Orangetheory is geared toward ALL levels of fitness and everyone is free and encouraged to go at their own pace. We recommend trying a free introductory workout, then discussing any thoughts or questions you may have regarding your fitness goals, with your coach.

Orangetheory is 5 Zone heart rate based interval training using specifically designed and timed interval training blocks. During a workout, members focus on Zones 3, 4 and 5. The workouts are designed to produce 12 minutes or more in Zones 4 & 5 combined (to achieve the after burn) during the treadmill training portion of the workout.
