My experience here was the only shelter that was available and I was unhappy everyday coming in here. Its unsanitary, the staff does not care as far as the basement ! They have a big room and that’s with single women and single mothers with their kids. I’ve always had to clean the bathrooms in order to take a shower, wake up to females arguing at 3am and you have to get up at 5am. Some scream wake up ! Only person their that shower respect was MsDuchess !they told me I had to leave that night or the next day cause I went off on staff! I was glad to sleep in my car the. To be there. God willing a better situation came for me! This is not only my experience but I seen women get treated worst . The food is 🤢 on jail trays ! So many things wrong with this and then they have the nerve to had bible scriptures all around the building ! 🥺

If you want ongoing bad mosquito bites, the smell of nicotine on your clothes and having to endure smokers outside on the patio, random individuals coming in drunk and beyond, randomly, trash bins that have not been cleaned since forever, Individuals having to go to the restroom outside that gate but told "you can't until 5:30 pm" and gave them a roll of toilet and told go in the bushes and that's exactly what they did. The more trouble people are here the better treated they get and rolling up in expensive automobiles that is a mystery, why they would be at this Shelter, some of the staff are very rude they actually "Yell" at random things that need no yelling at all involved, this place needs to separate the troubled, drunk and beyond and screamers in another section and the people that are there for a actual Shelter in another. This place is not Christian in the least. Some people use this as a Hostel and from what lots of people see families use this as a shopping place seeing they have a two Boutique-like Closets, shoes, purses, personal items, etc. come in use it and then go. People that are honest and looking to move forward that means nothing to these people.

Many shelters are missing the mark. This one included. Staff misconduct, ego, insecurity, privilege, favoritism. Thank God for just a few staff, who get it right. This is one of the places that have people choosing outside instead of shelter. Also, Your shelter is not holy ground, that's blasphemy.

These people accuse you of doing things you did not do in mistake for someone else and then they kick you out, when you did not even do that and had proof and evidence that it was not you! What a nice shelter! And then if you are able to stay there, which they let single men stay every night for as long as they would ever want to, then they try to keep you from wanting to go into the longer programs that they do offer for women that they make you wait to get on the waiting list for. You might be able to stay one night, bu then the next night they could turn you away because they want or there are not enough beds. i do not want to stay at a program only to know that I am going to be kicked out of for false accusations or staff is going to kick me out just because they want to and will and will not give you any notice for it!!! It is a crime to falsely accuse someone, and that person did not deserve that and just needed a place to stay.

The women's shelter will help you and the men's shelter should help your boyfriend. Get their phone number from their Google listing, call to ask questions. Good luck.
