The meandering path is worth every minute, calorie and sore body part in its entirety. It is a very serene and blissful environment. It does abruptly end at a tall barbed wire fence. At that point you’re ready to go back to the boat launch area, rest, then potentially go out for a bonus out-and-back.

Stunning place to run, walk or just hang out for an afternoon. Beautiful, Quiet setting. Restrooms nearby too.

I rented a pedal boat at Lake Murray in the morning (9am). It was awesome! Serene, warm, sunny, no wind, and no one in the water. Lots of walkers, runners, families along the lake trail, though. $20 an hour for the pedal boat and the guys in the rental shack are awesome! Friendly, knowledgeable, great necessities in the store too. A great experience, pedal workout, and serenity on the lake.

This is a huge lake with a long trail about 6 miles. It's not a full loop so you have to go back from the same route. There are different paths including paved road, dirt road or just simply walk along the water line. If you want to have a family picnic here, this place is perfect. It doesn't have spectacular view like other trails in San Diego but it's not bad. The trail is easy. Parking is plenty.

Yes. Rattlesnakes are out though, so best to keep them on a leash and scan the trail for snakes.
Yeah, its open. Lots of people are there now, and one thing i dont like is that a lot of them do not wear mask.
I believe the sign out front said "no fireworks."
As of 09/30/2020, Lake Murray is open to the public. Parking is (and has always been) sparse, so I'd plan to get there early.
They do not allow living in trailers on this site. They also do not allow camping. It's just a recreation park. * They don't allow living in trailers there. They don't even allow camping. It's only a park for recreation.
No
Yup. There are many people go there to take a hike. Just informed the staff that you just gonna hike. There is appropriate parking spot for you.
Hard to say, because it's under water

Yes starting today
There are 2 carparks at Lake Murray. The one off Golfcrest near the baseball fields is very close to the playground. The main carpark off Lake Murray Blvd is about 2 miles walk along the path to the playground.
