Y'all know my blood type is Duke's Mayonnaise, so when they announced #hottomatosummer would be featured exclusively in Richmond and #GVL, I had to find out where to try their hot tomato pie recipe. The Bohemian Cafe was that place (thanks to The Pickens Foodie). I also wanted to try more of their flair for brunch. The deluxe mimosa comes with champagne and orange juice; the "deluxe" part is the added pineapple and pomegranate juice. A rim of cane sugar, or mixed in it, would've helped the bitter edge in the pomegranate and Florida orange juice. However, I prefer a sweeter palate in a mixed drink, so it's suited for more "experienced casual drinkers" than me. 😅 It might be perfect to you! The sweet potato fries were a bit overdone and over sea salted, yet my pimento cheese BLT was incredible. The Duke's really played up the savory of the tomato and bacon, which leads us to the star of the show... That ✨hot 🍅 tomato 🥧 pie ✨ action! 💣 It has such a full bodied suckerpunch of savory, I had our server Faith ask the kitchen to make sure there wasn't any pork or beef in it. The rosemary was heavy to my husband, but for me it was Goldilocks. 🤌 It gave it that garden-y richness, that slight waft of scent from the tomato stem still left on your hands after plucking the tomato straight from the garden, still warm from the summer sun and ready to slice onto some mayo'd-up 🍞 bread. He had the Taos Breakfast Burrito, filled with homemade chorizo (oh MAN it was stellar!), cheese, chilies, onions, and home fries with "provocative cheese sauce". Y'all: 🚨 it was queso! 🚨 You could get grits as a side, but hashbrowns were offered, and if you know my husband, his blood type is ketchup for all the potato he consumes. 🥔💚 He says it took him back to childhood. His Nan would slightly overcook home fries, creating something between hashbrowns and mashed potatoes. It gave him a warm, nostalgic experience; just like the tomato pie gave me. Due to injury, he can't "eat like he used to", and sometimes I can't either, so we had a very hefty to-go box to bring home... And another slice of hot tomato pie destined for an air fryer reheating later. 🤩🌠🍅 Also, this post got kinda long, but shout-out to our hostess for getting us some cushions from the outside seating to accommodate the very hard chair for Brady. It really means a lot, especially on a first visit at an establishment, to eagerly assist any comfort needs a customer may require without feeling any compulsion to have to explain why. I still said he's recovering from an injury, but she didn't pry, or offer any fake concern, but thanked US for asking for help and empathized that they can be uncomfortable chairs pretty fast. The lunch was really special for me, paid for in part by one of our friends, and its somewhere Brady had wanted to visit since 10th grade. Go here period. The food is perfect. The Waitresses and Owners are kind and sweet. Refills are free. Dessert is delicious. 10/10

We just stopped in because we were in the area. What a pleasant surprise. Great menu for someone that wants something a little different. We will definitely be back.

The Bohemian Cafe has just become one of my favorite restaurant in Greenville to have brunch. We had the French toast with sausage and Salmon Florentine Benedict. Hat's off to the chef!
