I usually love Oakwood but was very disappointed yesterday. Ordered a plate for pick up and for $14 I got a spoonful of 2 sides and a small helping of pot roast. The pot roast was pretty good but the squash casserole and corn casserole tasted bland and well, like hospital food. Definitely not worth $14. Even if the food had been good, there was not much of it.

My family is on a mini vacation in the area and decided to try Oakwood Cafe for dinner tonight based on menu and previous reviews. It was exactly what we were wanting - casual, home style food. We were impressed that our food came out really fast! Service was good. Food tasted fresh and we all got our favorites. Three of us had dinner, drinks, and dessert for about $50.

Been here a number of times and this is my take away. Good food and reasonable prices. Very and I mean very, comfortable atmosphere. A staff that hustles(I love this). All of this comes together for a solid dining value. Kudos to the owner for a job well done.

2 stars for the quick service and great customer service! Only 2 stars because the food is extremely bland and it's like eating at the hospital or retired old folks nursing home! When you walk all you see is older people 60 and up! It's good for them but food is not good to me! I had smoked brisket, squash casserole and cucumber salad!
