Its a good hard hike. Bailed do to poison ivy. Couldn't keep my dog out of it. Tough location to find. It is up a steep drive to the Tipton Family Center. Off to the left you will see the trail head. No entrance fee and pet friendly. Bring water, bug spray and sunscreen.

Well, the trail is definitely like other Trail users have described it... Very Steep in many sections, beautiful views, but the one thing that I would add is more to tell around the distance of the trail. The trailhead sign says that it is 2.4 miles, but is not super clear if that is one-way or round-trip. You can pretty much start getting decent views at a half-mile up, and the trail continues from there. I ended up going 1 mile out, and 1 mile back, and got to see what I imagine are the best views, but you could still go further at that mile point...just not sure exactly how much further. All in all, I would recommend the trail, but keep the difficulty level in mind

Definitely not easy trail, not for kids or seniors. Check Google map before going there, because GPS is not taking you to the parking lot. View is pretty amazing for pictures even in December, I can only imagine what it looks like during summer and fall.

My first time here from Oklahoma! I was abit confused on how to find the Trailhead. I parked below the State Police building and walked through the woods thinking that was it then went up the hill and finally found the parking area and Trailhead. The hike up was very challenging!!! The views at the top was well worth it though ☺️

It is 3/4mi, up hill, with some areas up rocky inclines. It is ranked as o e of the most difficult short trails in Georgia.
No cost, there's no spaces to picnic but I'm sure you could have one of you wanted. It's basically just a trail up the side of the mountain. Pretty steep.
At a good pace. About an hour. It's a bit difficult for people who don't hike much.
Yes its slippery its uphill very tough trail but fun
Confederate soldier, Civil War. George Disney was a soldier of the 4th Kentucky Infantry, of the famous Kentucky "Orphan" Brigade, CSA. When his regiment was stationed on top of Rocky Face Ridge near Dalton, Georgia, in February 1864, he was killed by a stray bullet, and buried where he fell. Boy Scouts discovered the grave in 1912 and marked it.
