Loved it. However Colchuck lake doesn't seem to be 2000 ft elevation and 8 Mile round trip as per WTA. It felt more elevation and miles than that.

Amazing hike to Colchuck lake and to the Enchantments. I recommend everyone to go to Colchuck lake and the very best of hikers to take on the Enchantments with proper planning.

Great trail. 9 miles total. 4.5 up and down. It was an advanced trail, not for a first time hiker but not too technically difficult. Long slow grind to the top with lots of stair like rocks. Bring lots of water and a snack. The hike is about 2.5 hours up. 1.5 hours down. The up is a beautiful but challenging trail. When you get to the top it becomes well worth it. The lake is a crystal blue lake with amazing mountain backdrop. Several campsites uo top. Allow for plenty of time to hang out and definitely jump in. It’s cold but worth it. Would recommend this hike. It’s well worth it.

one of mine and my partner's favorite alpine lake hikes! if you exercise adequately, and have some experience hiking, this one's perfect! expect rocks on the trails and bring a some swim attire! the water is amazing. not too cold. the chipmunks are also very friendly!

It's kinda hardfor the first 3 mi and he gets really difficult the last mile or the last 3/4 of the mile but I'm sure they'll do good I have seen some people taking their little kids and they were kind of slow but it seems like they were okay. I hope this helps!
No problems, there is some washboard and a few potholes, but all manageable.
Colchuk lake is around 8.5 miles round trip with 2200ft elevation gain.

Dogs are not allowed in the enchantments area.
