I hate to see two horses been overworked (yes, only two). How dare! It was 80+ outside over the weekend and those poor horses were pulling carriages NON-STOP ALL DAY, DESPERATELY CRYING OUT OF EXHAUSTION AND DEHYDRATION. GIVE THEM A BREAK, GREEDY PEOPLE!! Have heart and kindness to animals or you will be reported! I hope someone can take it seriously.

Finally made it to Leavenworth this year with the family after years of wanting to visit. Since we were going to be there during the week (12/5-12/9) we called and spoke with someone at the Chamber of Commerce to verify activities and dates. We were told that things were going to be different than in the past. There would no longer be a "flipping of the switch" on weekends to help reduce crowd sizes (which we appreciated). Instead, the lights would be on every day of the week, holiday characters including Santa and wandering carolers would be out around town and kids' activities would also be available throughout the week. Unfortunately, the lights were turned off in the park every night around 11pm and turned back on in the morning. This was very disappointing because we booked a couple of village view rooms at the Bavarian Lodge to enjoy the lights. Turning them off did not keep people out of the park after hours. We only heard performers under the gazebo in the park on two separate nights as we came out of a restaurant and shops. We were told by a shop owner that there were indoor activities at the Festhalle for children. However, we did not confirm this because we did not have small children with us. On Tuesday night we just happened to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus. Lucky for us they decided to come to town that night dressed in full costume. While speaking with them we learned that they were employed by the city to work weekends only. We would have enjoyed our visit much more if the park lights stayed on beyond 12 a.m., we had access to a schedule for entertainment in the park and Santa and Mrs. Claus visits included weekdays. We realize that this year was different. We hope that you consider our suggestions, and we look forward to improvements next year.

This place is a must stay! Especially around Christmas you just can’t beat it. I have been to Germany many times and this place feels like you are actually there! They have so many great bars, shops and restaurants. It’s a beautiful town but you will want to stay here for a couple nights or so. Everything closes pretty early and after a couple of days you have pretty much see everything.

Great place to visit for a one-day trip. Great German beer, great food and great art. Driving 2 hours and a half was worth it.

Yes! The shops & restaurants are currently open with limited indoor capacity. Front Street is currently closed to vehicles allowing for a pedestrian-only area with lots of room to socially distance and also space for restaurants and tasting rooms to have outdoor seating. More detailed information can be found at www.leavenworth.org
Hello Victor! Leavenworth has more than 40 restaurants and several bars, a handful of those are closed on Mondays but most will be open. You can find a list here: https://leavenworth.org/dining/
Yes! All the shops & restaurants are currently open with indoor capacity at 25%. We expect that to be the same during spring break. Even if Leavenworth moves back into Phase 1, which we don't expect to happen, all the shops will be still open at 25% capacity and the restaurants will have outdoor seating and takeout.
Yes :)
Because it is not a revenue generating business enterprise, there is no profit motive to encourage the 2x-3x holiday pay required to keep the CoC open on the holiday.
I believe you're talking about the Bavarian Bistro & Bar.
Go to the visitors center, they might be able to help you, that is a BEAUTIFUL place!
There are several bus stops along Highway 2 in Leavenworth but not an indoor station yet (one will be built in the coming years behind Safeway). The stop for buses traveling over Stevens Pass is at the 76 Gas Station on the west end of town next door to Icicle Village Resort.
The Christmas lights downtown typically stay on through the middle of February.
