Great gym with options for all the family! We've been going to this gym for 5 months now, bringing our 1 year old with us to enjoy the facilities. We had an issue at one point, but it was swiftly dealt with by management and I couldn't be more grateful. The weight room is good, with plenty of options. The new locker rooms are nice, though some additional changing tables for toddlers would be nice. My wife enjoys both the indoor pool classes and indoor group exercise classes and highly recommends them. Overall we love the YMCA and would recommend it to anyone!

A wonderful place to exercise! Lots of classes to choose from! My husband & I have been members for 10+ years! We've never been disappointed!

Love this gym. So friendly! Lots of classes to offer... I have been a member since I was a kid and this place has always been a favorite pastime. I would definitely recommend this gym as the best gym in Redding!

We joined this gym because of the access to year-round swim and swim lessons, multiple children's classes available (although many require additional fees), and because they offer childcare while my husband and I worked out. My husband has never had this problem but it seems whenever I go to get a workout in the mornings I am often turned away at the childcare room. It's hard enough as it is to load up a 7 year old, 4-year old and a 1 year old in the car, get the 7 year old to school then head straight to the gym but to then be turned way and not able to get a workout in after driving across town it pretty unpleasant. There are 2 childcare rooms. 1 for infants 6 weeks old up to 3 year olds and another room for children 4 and over. Somewhere along the lines they started closing the 4 and older room in the mornings leaving children as old as 5 to play in the infant room with the smaller children. When I asked the staff at the front desk about the change in policy they said it was assumed children 4 and older were in school. Um, not my child. Not the other 4 4-year olds and even the 5 year old we saw in the infant room this very morning. We've been members of the Y for 2 years. I've been turned away from the child watch about half the time I go to the gym which is making me less willing to brave the load-up-trek-across-town process. Good gym if you don't actually have children or if you work out after 3 when the 4 and older room is actually open. Adult exercise classes are a mixed bag. Some are good, some are not so good. If the child watch situation is addressed adequately then we may continue at the Y but if it's not we will be canceling our membership.
