Topsham Fair

It was a little disappointing this year. This was due to there were no midway game vendors, there was food and equipment vendors and some rides. We visited the animal barns and the exhibition halls and made some purchases in the exhibition hall. We also watched the horse pulling event and then left. The food prices were expensive, but we figured it would be due to the inflation. Spoke with one of the fair association members and they're working on getting midway vendors for next year. We plan on visiting again next year.

Took our 3 grandchildren on August 12 and 3 rides were broken down. Surprised there weren't any craft tents.

We always try to hit the Topsham Fair. It is the only one that I know of where you pay one price at the gate and it covers your rides for the day. Now, mind you, this is not a big ride fair. There may only be about 10 rides, but still... you pay $15 dollars to get in, with the kiddos, and you can ride those rides all afternoon. No tickets. There are also animal exhibits, and showings, musicians, games, tons of food, sulky racing, etc. This is a real agricultural fair. 4H at its best. We saw sheep showing, steer pulling, goat milking demos, and have, in the past, seen police dog demonstrations. There are always a demolition derby and pig scrambles. It is probably my favorite after Windsor.

Great small fair. Quite a few rides for the grandkids. Good "fair food". Enjoyed the afternoon.
